Exploring Chengdu’s Buddhist temples is always an enjoyable activity. What about trying the food that the monks eat? In this video, I try some of the food surrounding Wenshu temple and inside the temple itself in Chengdu. Please like: www.facebook.com/foodrangin

To find this location, come to Wenshuyuan 文殊院 in Chengdu. The food outside the temple is awesome. If you want to try the food inside, come around 12PM or 5pm and lineup inside the temple for some free food. Too be honest, the food inside the temple wasn’t that flavourful, but it was an amazing experience to eat in there and gain a glimpse of what the monks eat.

Thanks so much for watching, and please stay tuned for more fun food and travel videos!

  1. 文殊院的泡菜是我有生以来吃过最咸的,没有之一!试一试昭觉寺的斋菜吧,他么的咸菜比文殊院好太多了。

  2. What the hell…dude you eat it wrong. Those rice…of course there is no taste…also you're supposed to eat those rice with the tasty plants..you don't eat it plain. I supposed the camera man is not a Chinese or they would have told you how to eat.

  3. I jave a question

Do hindu or Buddhist allowed to eat
Pork or fish? It's not forbidden to them? Respect my answer thank you

  4. Trevor I am seeing few comments for etiquettes inside a temple. For a moment I too felt the same.
Do try to stay out of temples/ mosques etc. Try places outside these religious spots for food.
Of you show this that u r entering that religious place, then show just worshipping and praying. Dont make it about food.

  5. Hi, Trevor. Lovely video of you, but next time, please think again how to film the religious places in more sensible approachment. Feeding your curiosity for experience is fine, but your action might inspire other people to do the same thing without really knowing the consequences of their action, for themselves or the place in the future. Peace, happy exploring and stay foodie.
