Caught on Tape: Woman Dumps Puppies
Animal Services Places Pups With Rescue Group Partner

FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2019 – A woman dumped a bag of puppies behind an auto parts store in Coachella on Thursday afternoon and now she’s being investigated for animal cruelty.

An employee with a Napa Auto Parts store contacted Riverside County Animal Services after a passerby discovered the bag next to a Dumpster. The store is located at 49251 Grapefruit Blvd. Officer Jose Cisneros responded shortly before 2 p.m. and collected a trash bag, which contained seven puppies. All of the pups were approximately 3 days old and were believed to be terrier mixes.

Animal Services’ veterinary team members cared for the puppies and lined up a rescue group partner organization to take over bottle feeding duties. MeoowzResQ, a Southern California-based organization specializing in kitten and cat rescue and fostering, agreed to accept the pups.

Officer Cisneros asked an employee at the Napa store if he could review any surveillance footage from the store security’s cameras. The employee allowed the officer to review the footage and he watched one segment that showed a vehicle driving near the rear area of the business.

Just after 1 p.m. on Thursday, a woman in a Jeep pulled up, exited the Jeep carrying a plastic bag in one of her hands and walked toward a Dumpster used for recycling materials. She shut the recycling Dumpster and dropped the clear, plastic bag next in a trash Dumpster and drove away.

Shortly afterward, a passerby, named John, rummaged through the trash and noticed the bag and brought it into the Napa store. If not for the Good Samaritan’s actions, the puppies may not have survived much longer. The mid-day temperatures in Coachella on Thursday were in the mid-90s range.

“The Good Samaritan played a major role in saving theses puppies’ lives,” Commander Chris Mayer said. “His actions were humane and heroic.”

He said the woman’s actions are despicable and he and his colleagues are already communicating with Riverside County Sheriff’s investigators and the District Attorney’s office in building a strong cruelty case.

“There is no excuse for dumping puppies,” Mayer said. “Especially in today’s age when we or other shelters would be willing to get these animals to foster parents or rescue partners. This was a shameful act.”

  2. Cold-hearted piece of human trash. Just find her and throw her in a dumpster but DON'T bother to rescue her, leave her putrid carcass to rot.

  3. Deborah Culwell 54 was arrested at her Coachella home faces 7 counts of felony animal cruelty with 10,000$ bail. She just tosses them like a bag of trash I hope they took the Mama dog from her and do further investigations. This is a SICK PERSON no Empathy

  4. THEY GOT THE BITCH! She should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Lock her up and, make sure the cell is 90 degrees or, higher!!! Evil beyond EVIL!!!!!!!!

  5. What else has this disgusting human being done and not get caught for it? If you have the mindset to be able to do that and walk away, there are obviously many more sociopathic decisions made in her lifetime that she has gotten away with.

  6. I hope you find a surrogate mother for these puppies. A lot of dogs start do give milk when they accept other puppies.

  7. April 18, 2018 ??? Please check your intro info.

We have 2019. Yahoo mentioned it was last Thursday.

This would have been the 18th.
    The 18th in 2018 was a Wednesday.

There is no excuse for animal cruelty. Period.
Unfortunately the penalty for this is often not enough.
The mother dog could have been spayed.
If she was too stupid to see a vet and getting it done

these puppies could have been offered for adoption.

  8. What a fucking whore bitch. Toss them away and walk away like some fucking oscar winning diva. Hope you get arrested and put in jail you soulless cunt. Sorry for the cursing but people who do this pisses me off greatly.

  9. She didn't even put them on softly but THREW them on the ground and she could have hurt them, what kind of person can do this ? She must be EVIL and if she got her dogs tied up she wouldn't be having her dog have babies, she MUST be filled with demons to throw new born babies away like TRASH !! I am so GLAD that they found her and convicted her her licence plates would have been EASY to see if they zoomed in and I hope and pray that she get a FINE and JAIL TIME she will REAP WHAT SHE SOWS if not now in hell. How Long is this going to CONTINUE for God's sake? Its 2019 and if someone DOESN'T know to take these babies to a RESCUE then they are NOT even HUMAN to me

  10. You people act all disgusted by this lady, but tomorrow morning you'll probably have some bacon for breakfast, burger for lunch, steak for dinner. Its the same thing.

  11. She was arrested for felony animal abuse, and 38 dogs were removed from her home (it was a mess). If she felt overwhelmed, why not ask for help before it got so out-of-hand?

  12. The "woman" who so callously plastic-bagged these puppies and tossed them alongside a dumpster at some auto parts store in the sweltering heat could have instead just taken them straight to the local animal shelter! Also, it is a well known fact that animal cruelty is oftentimes a gateway to child cruelty. I read that the local authorities and the district attorney are trying to build a strong cruelty case against the "woman," including up to seven counts of felony animal cruelty (one for each puppy), and that she is being held on $10,000 bail. However, in my OPINION:
    1) $10k bail is too low — it should be $100k. That way, when she posts her 10% down for the bail bond, it will be $10k, vs. only $1k. As the saying goes, "Hit them in the pocket."
    2) She should have to perform 1,000 hours of Community Service, for instance, maybe 10 hours per week for 2 years.
    3) A higher bail amount coupled with mandatory community service is the only way that "people" like her will ever learn to actually be human!

BTW, if you disagree (either because you are not an animal lover, or simply because you are a complete monster), don't waste your time (or, much more importantly, mine) flaming this post, because as I stated, this is only my OPINION. I will not allow myself to get roped into an internet argument with some ignoramus, as I have better things to do.
