About This Episode:
Today we’re hunting for more culinary oddities deep in Vietnam and I was in luck. Everyone’s favorite bizarre food bistro, Boca Plua, was serving up some sizzling black Scorpion. But they’re not savages people! The scorpions were topped with a secret sauce and garnished with a tomato rose. Now THIS is fine dining. Go ahead and click play and watch what happens when a guy like me (exactly me) and a black scorpion try to eat each other. Who will win? Me actually.

On this episode, I’m also joined by Vi of OneTrip Adventures. She’s an authentic Vietnamese person so this should be no problem for her, right? Well, if you think that, you might be RACIST! Let’s find out from Vi herself if she can take down one of these creepy crunchy crawlers.

About Sonny Side:
I’m not sponsored. I’m not rich. I’m just some guy who wanted to make the type of travel videos that I would want to see. This show is completely self-funded so thanks for patiently watching that five second advertisement (and read below how you can support this channel).

I am a video director by trade. Each time I travel to a new country I bring a cameraman with me, usually a friend, to shoot as many episodes as possible in a short amount of time (usually a week). The rest of the time I’m working as a video director/videographer in Vietnam and editing the crap out of these videos.

Much love and remember, Don’t Think, Just Chew.

  1. I enjoy and appreciate how you've come a long way from these early videos and really found your groove and flow, Sonny! These are enjoyable as well, but your more recent videos definitely show you in a more confident and relaxed space than you seemed to be at first. Keep up the good work and I will keep watching!

  2. ? I love the random comments or jokes he chucks into the conversation mix. Just makes it jokes to watch on top it's just exciting.

  3. Omg … this reminds me of a terrifying experience I had once, which involved a seemingly ordinary cup of tea; & something else that should NOT have been there! The first thing I should mention is that I prefer to drink most liquids with a straw, including hot drinks (ever since I had to have an emergency tracheotomy 5 years ago). So, I went to take the first sip of my tea … then I suddenly felt something wriggling in my mouth! I immediately spat it onto the tea-tray; & it was a EARWIG!! This horrible, black insect was squirming on the tray & (as I'm physically disabled & helpless) I practically screamed for my mum. She rushed to my room, followed by my 2 older sisters & they were as horrified as I was; especially when they realised it had been IN my mouth! Since then, I haven't trusted any liquids except bottled drinks poured into a small refillable bottle. Watching this video; I couldn't help thinking those scorpions were like oversized earwigs! LOL. No offence meant, though… ?
