Across the Midwest, the first snowstorm of the season came at the worst time for Thanksgiving travel. Heavy snow fell in parts of Minnesota, North Dakota and western Wisconsin — as much as 17 inches in some places. Jonah Kaplan reports, and Rob Marciano has the forecast. Then, Kris Van Cleave has more on the millions of Americans traveling by car.

Looks like a few inches 😂😂
I had a patty melt for lunch three days ago. The pickle was good.
I like minnesota ❤
This is far from the Midwest. 🤦♀️
The whole point of muscle memory is that it kicks in automatically
I used to live in Washington State. It was nice in summer but Thanksgiving was the beginning of freezing fog and snow until April
What's going to happen next year when the socialist is mayor going to charge to watch it LoL
Minnesota can scam some more money give tickets for it LoL ROFLMAO cause they can't drive LoL
Coppulate CBS/PARAMOUNT/SKYDANCE AND ELLISON
This is Trump’s fault 😂
This is northern plains not midwest
Oh look, CBS actually telling the truth.
why you drivin all them cars
I remember we used to get good snow in Pittsburgh nothing in 15 years now
It rain before it snow. The rain freeze cause black ice cover with snow.
Why do the news folk act like it’s a new phenomenon every year, that weather is typical for Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin,,,, I lived in Twin Cities for nearly 20 years, originally from the Chicago area,,, I’ve seen blizzards as early as Halloween and as late as May in Minnesota,,,, I live in California now, believe it or not I miss the snow,,, blizzards, accidents, white outs to be expected this time of year in the northern Midwestern states, it’s been like that forever
so much ICE everywhere someone needs to go out and protest
Y’all be safe out, God bless
thats mother nature dont care about plans lol
Roses are dry in Minnesota. You’re making much ado about nothing. One or two inches.
People who live in NY are completely Yonkers.
minnesota? Mid-west?
I live in the west but had to travel to Minneapolis on my way to Williston N.D. for work and saw so many miserable winters there. I'm retired now and am very happy I don't have to do that anymore! To those who live there, stay safe and good luck!
You were already warned about the incoming weather. What happened to you after that is your own fault.
Stay off the road‼️ Slow Down‼️
It comes when The Most High wants it to come!
Race or parade. Come on ROB you get paid too much money to make stupid mistakes.
Mid west is a strong word, i live in the midwest and havent seen a single snow flake yet, it was 75 and sunny two days ago. Wonder how many years old the videos they are using are. Because the weather and their reporting doesnt match.
I can’t stand winter!
Stay home
Exactly why we fly mom to California for the holidays.
Why are trucks going so fast in these conditions? Never fails to impress how dumb motorists can be .
I pray in Wisconsin the most snow ever seen to make something for it, to get somewhere with this with Technology going along with it, Fault Tolerant Quantum Computer 2029, Quantum Internet reading universe program Stargate flight doing better than money restore experience time in advancements nature in technology doing better than death everything in life Aliens among us and God bless America the future and life extension of the universe. Amen. God bless.
Man prayers the parade tomorrow is safe and no shootings
I liked how there was a van patiently making it's way forward with all the other cars on the road with the word Swift on it! Good metaphor! Like the phrase goes "Festina lente" – which means to make haste slowly. Good suggestions given about keeping distance between the other drivers and to slow down. I don't drive but I remembered hearing something if I'm correct about how brakes don't react as quickly in colder weather conditions especially if there's snow, so maybe it would a good idea to factor that into the equation too. Take care and remember it's not how fast you reach your destination but that you get there safely. Angel blessings from Courtenay Rhennick in Ireland xx
Good to see Rob Marciano!! I didn't know he's on CBS now.
Glad he's here. Great reporter. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! 🍗🍠🥧🥂
