  1. Re this friend owning a rescue, and saying: "Do adopt this cat if you wish but lack money. I will help you with the basic vet costs." This is not so unusual! Because the biggest problem for many shelters and rescue groups is not always money, but its a lack of good adoption homes… So as soon they KNOW a good home is waiting, they are often willing to help out or cooperate… Sometimes they call this for a fostering home, sometimes they agree to be a permanent adoption home…. Also, they do often cooperate with a vet, whom gives them a substantial discount on hishers services… So for them helping with vet costs isnt as big deal as it perhaps seems…

  2. Love stories like these. So many wonderful people in the world who love animals. Thank you for taking him in. He looks so happy. It looks like your other cat likes him too. Win, win!

  3. That toothbrush trick is amazing, isn't it? I just learned about it a month ago. I've had my two cats for 12 years and we are very closely bonded. But the level of trust, love, and closeness still managed to skyrocket with the toothbrush grooming around the head, cheeks, and (ever so gently) on the outside of the ears! Please don't worry about their ear safety, I never go to the inside of the ear. I am very careful and gentle. Both cats initiated the ear brushing by grabbing and guiding the toothbrush to the outside of their ear. They are very glad to use their paws like hands to show me what they want!

  4. Beautiful story. So happy you put all that time and energy to get him to trust you. Also, it's wonderful that you had a friend with enough connections for the vet care. He looks so playful and happy. Those long winter nights won't take their toll on him thanks to you. So sorry about the loss of your cat, hope you take comfort in the fact you saved this babies life. God Bless.

  5. I have 18 cats I took in from outside and it wasn't for a friend I would not be able to keep them all some times I struggles but I always try to make sure they have food it's hard when you on SSI and have to pay rent and water and electric and gas and buy food for your self and the cats when you don't get that much money

  6. I can totally identify with how she feels. I love my kitty Scratchy more than anything. She'll turn seven next month. I adopted her when she was about two months old so as a tribute, I gave her my father's birthday. July 23rd
