2. I'm not sure what to make of all this. The language barrier? Really. What? I've been to many beaches. Never like this. Was i lucky? Or did I know my limits and was able to read and communicate. I am learning what else not to do. Kudos for that. I guess.

3. The amount of people that go slimming when they don't know how to swim is mind-blowing, but the same can be said for the amount of people that don't reach simple signs like signs. Are there for a reason?Would you just not read a stop sign or a road sign??….idiots

4. The only question is why to people who can't swim go into these waters. The fault is only with them.

15. I only go to Bondi to see the lifeguards even though it’s like 40 mins away

18. maybe they should have the signs in other languages too… the language barrier is such a common obstacle in these rescues but kudos to these lifeguards for all of their hard work

23. I have to laugh, these guys are game to swim with the sharks but shriek when they encounter a mouse/rat. I get it, when they showed the tarantula, the phone went flying! 😅

28. After 10 minutes paramedics pronounced him dead??? As a paramedic for 15 years in Germany, we do cpr at least for 1 hour, before a patient is considered dead! In such a case even always a emergency doctor is present. That's the difference.

33. So glad that they debrief over tragic situations, so important to their own mental health, lifeguards go through a lot as a part of their job.

37. The only reason a shark would take a bite is that they are hungry. They are hungry because we are overfishing our oceans,

38. It shocks me that people who cannot swim go out in the water. Maybe coz im a kiwi, n like the Aussies we're bought up around water, but it shocks me how many foreigners go swimming when they cant swim. They just dont get the danger of water, let alone the ocean!

39. Seeing these guys, who do this for a living, tear up at not saving someone really hurts my heart. They risk their own lives to save others & it shows what good people they are that its cuts them deep to lose someone.
    I NEVER go swimming in oceans/lakes as i hate the water (if someone is going to get eaten by some huge mutant fish, eel or shark itd be my luck lol), but if i was ever going to go swimming somewhere itd be there – dont think you could be in better hands! Just really good people doing a job they love. Just like coppers, ambos, nurses etc, takes a special person wth a good heart to do a job like that ❤

41. Bondi is a beautiful beach and place to be….but the water might look calm…but underneath is a beast I have never encountered, 20 years on watching bondi beach, memory's come back how it felt to be caught in a rip, these guys are true legends…Andrew "Reidy" Reid was my savour that day…..

46. Can't imagine how traumatic that is to see. My colleague took her own life last month by drowning.
    Very sad for everyone involved, and I'm sad for her too.
    Edit: need to mention how grateful I am for lifeguards and anybody who can sense trouble. Truly appreciate it.
