A Philadelphia police officer shot and killed a cane corso dog after it and three pit bulls attacked a man in the city’s Mantua neighborhood.
It happened on Wednesday around 10:16 a.m. on the 3900 block of Fairmount Avenue.
Police said the incident began when a witness pointed out the pack of dogs to an officer on patrol.

WHY. WHY. WHY. Do people that own dangerous breeds like this allow them to roam about? If you cannot keep the dogs contained, do not own them. I had a cousin that kept a Doberman at my grandmother's house. Visiting there was terrifying. It bit one of my young cousins, a visitor to the home and a utility worker ( it got put down after that). It's like some people get a rise out of knowing that their pets can hurt other people.
Everything is blurred, beeped, "*"-ed nowadays. I think in a few years, all we will see on the news are a long beep and blur. Then, everyone will have to use the good old imagination.
He's probably on leave because he was traumatised by what he saw and had to do. That can't have been easy and was likely very scary.
