   We don't see red squirrels where I live.
   In English, squirrels aren't said to have nests, but dreys. Not that I mean a snotty correction to this fabulous young woman who speaks better English than most English speakers.
   I just think it would be a shame if we lost the world.
   Squirrels SHOULD have their name for their own homes.

   Watching that little one pull all the towels close, to make a lovely warm, snug and safe feeling hole, that was lovely.

25. Animals' gratitude is amazing if you think how much wild creatures are usually scared of us! To think a terrified animal is rescued and then comes back to its savior… it really shows how deeply they understand and come to care.

30. Long before the interwebs I found an infant squirrel in my grandma's back yard. I picked it up and took him inside as my elders screeched and I asked for help. He was rehabbed and released. A few days later my grandma called me. ME. Not my mom. She told me.a squirrel showed up and wouldn't leave, nesting in her trees. Summer came. When I showed up this squirrel wouldn't leave me alone. ❤ to Nutty!

47. Squirrels are underrated for how cool & fun they are – as a kid my dad & grandpa saved a grey squirrel that fell from a nest in one of their trees. Reused an old bird cage to give it a safe place to stay & nursed it back to health with advice from numerous vets. That squirrel stayed around for years & I still remember feeding it from my hands or watching it climb into my grandpa's front overalls pocket to take a nap 🥰 now I have my own place & have befriended 3 or 4 fox squirrels over the last year, all with different personalities. It's a blessing for a wild animal to really trust you & let you into their lives, I still recall last spring when there were 3 adults & 2 babies in my yard, as if the adults were guiding like "this is a good spot for food & safety". Wonderful, smart, curious & intuitive creatures that make me happy to share this world with them ❤
