  1. Kill switch kills power to motor instant turn off dosent lock it up
It won’t even start when it’s off I learned the hard way after spending half an hour at the ramp with my engine cooling off and plugs out

  2. When you hit the water vertically you slide in a lil more cut into the water breaking you’re impact versus falling out of the sky and just slapping it with ur body my boyfriend just out of the boat all the time 😂

  3. The kill switch should be ejected attached to your PFD, belt loop, whatever and it kills the engine immediately. The boat will not start back up without the kill switch plugged in

  4. The easiest way to explain a kill switch: imagine holding your push button start on your car to keep it turned on and if you let it go it shuts off. A kill switch cord on a bass boat acts like your finger pushing in that push button start on your car. Once it's released ignition power is cut to the motor and it shuts off

  5. That dude that hit the bank aint very smart.that boat was getting squirly a long time before he hit.he shouldhave slowed down way back there 😂

  6. Never, ever put a boat in gear without your kill switch employed.
No, kill switches don't "lock everything up", they short the power to the coils-basically turning off the ignition..
Friend was running up a small river in a johnboat with forward controls. Something in the control panel broke and put him up the bank into the trees. The bank rocked him and his wife pretty bad but they missed all the trees which would of been far worse than it was. He wasn't wearing his kill switch. He now will only use tiller steer and always has his kill switch on.

  7. As a person who works with boats 5 days a week for a living, this is one of my biggest fears. My advice, ALWAYS wear your PFD, slow down, pay attention to your surroundings at all times, at these speeds the smallest disruption can cause a catastrophe, your Fish finder can wait, your phone can wait. the only focus as the operator is to get yourself, and anyone on your vessel to the destination safely. Thank you for bring this to light my dude.
