1. I would like to issue a correction to the Iraq WMD thing. Old chemical weapons were found, but they were in a state of disrepair and were not used against US troops. These weapons were, also, created in cooperation with the west, decades prior. This is why their discovery was not widespread news. They were also completely unusable and had been for some time. Not worth 4,000 lives.

8. Based on what I've seen in total about the CIA is that I'm fairly sure that they are behind almost every single major assassination (Including jfk) since its founding. I'm glad I'm not an American citizen sometimes. Australia has its own problems Cough Cough "De-Anonymizing the internet" but the CIA and its schemes are scary. Also no single country entity should have any amount of control of the creation of laws that affect the internet. Just because a country wants to censor the entire internet doesn't mean the rest should follow or should it effect the rest of the internet.

10. Crimes against humanity in the Balkans? What you mean?! It's not like the UK flew low altitude in the Bulgarian city of Dupnitsa and shot at civilians during WWII. And it's even less like the US bombed the hell out of Sofia during WWII and then erect a monument in memory of American pilots who died while bombing Sofia during WWII in their embassy.

All I know about the CIA is the bits and pieces that we see leak out, but it seems to me that whenever they really crap things up, it's almost always because they were doing things that they were not supposed to be doing, that don't fall under the traditional role of intelligence. They are supposed to run networks of spies, and learn the secrets of other countries, not organize revolutions, rig elections, assassinate journalist, or contract hitmen to abduct and murder activists. The Army has special forces who are supposed to do our murdering for us, and only when absolutely necessary, and not because someone is about to publish a news story that makes a friendly dictator look like a jerk.

    My guess is that the CIA probably has too many people who, and this is probably not everyone or even most people, confuse their own narrow political/religious beliefs with what it is they should be doing to protect American interests. For example, the WMDs in Iraq, George W. Bush wanted a war with Iraq, and many people in the CIA looked at Bush, and because he was a conservative Christian Republican, decided that it was in the interest of America for George W. Bush to get his justification for war in Iraq, so they went either making things up, or convinced themselves that a bunch of unverified sources were factual. After all, Fox News was reporting Iraq had WMDs, so it was either admitting that your own political party was capable of deluding itself, or confirming their bias. I am sure this also happens in Social Services programs when the democrats are in charge, but the difference is no one is starting a war when HUD exaggerates how many homeless children the president's new program is getting off the street.
