  1. Kicks are not only good they are necessary in street fighting. Everything said in this viedo is only true for those who can't fight at all and for these people nothing really is going to be good. Punches, throws, grabs. Everything will fucking fail when you can't do it. Kicks are great if you can do them. NEVER neglect the skills that you've developed just because some bozo on YT says you shouldn't!

  2. Front kick is so easy any braindead moron can do it POORLY and it will still work.

Side kicks with any amount of good form relies on rooting and it’s a straight kick that’s incredibly modular.

Both are fantastic for street fights. Really only head kicks and body round kicks suck for street fighting in the sense that they always suck without setup anyway and the stakes are just higher.

Side kick also rules because with a bit of mobility a side kick to the chest turns into a hook kick to the head which is more than enough to knock someone out and is literally set up by you missing. And you’ll always miss to the correct side since you’re trying to hit with your heel.
Just don’t use a blade kick because you kinda miss out on the hook kick recovery AND if you have to set it down prematurely, your ankle is in a weird spot.

And legs kicks in generally are good just don’t throw them every 4 seconds and also do your best to set them up as well.

  3. I was gonna say… Huh.. na I'ma kick.ima stomp the Fucking knee or chop they damn leg in half why the fuck you going for a head kick anyway .. if it's a real street right I probably didn't start it and wanna get away.. hard to go after someone with a horse named Charles

  4. Forgot the best kick for a street fight ,, toe stomp – taking their ability to go away from you while coming at them either makes them fall over or lift guard. The toe stomp, pin those digits.

  5. Why not leg kicks? People can’t fight the same after a well placed leg kick. It also gets them thinking about you attacking their lower half so they might drop their guard to catch a kick that’s not cominh

  6. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ I have kicked in street fighting and they do suck you have to have extreme levels of skill or situational understanding. I do love my kicks though

  7. I was attacked from behind on the street once: I did an albow as I turned, and a sidekick as he advanced on me again – then he ran. Point is, whatever you are good at and will connect, is the right technique to use.

  8. I'll throw a knee to the face if you telegraph a take down though

Also leg kicks (quads/hammies) when barefoot on dry grass work too. Fought plenty of times as a kid in Hawai'i at the park. So long as the grass isn't wet, you're fine. On wet grass, you deserve what you get for trying to kick

  9. Feel like leg kicks are the only viable option unless you know the guy has absolutely 0 survival instinct or fighting ability. Still remember when I did kickboxing when I was like 12 or 13 and for some reason I was terrible at absolutely everything except catching kicks. I believe the guy running the class said something along the lines of "well I guess it's fair, you don't know how to kick so they arnt allowed to kick" probably one of the only times he spoke to me without me not getting hit by that annoying ass foam bat šŸ˜‚

  10. Maybe for average people, yeah, but if you’re on concrete, it’s really easy to throw a front kick to the body and not fall over. It’s also really easy to knock over someone who doesn’t expect a front kick to the body, especially if it’s a teep, or a thrusting front kick. Even snapping front kicks would destroy a normal person’s gas tank and make their efforts useless

  11. The fights I've been in, I always opt to go for a knee to whatevers exposed rather than a kick. Keeps your center of gravity closer to your core, exposes less to grab, and is all around just less risky.

Im no expert and the only martial art I personally know is HEMA, but a knee strike to a guy's hand has actually saved me from a murder attempt before

  12. If you practice kicking there's no good reason you would fall over doing a kick, this is just one of those wives tales martial artists like to repeat. It's very easy to fall over if you wrestle somebody sloppily as well but it's usually assumed that whatever you're going to try in a fight is something you have practiced and can do correctly.

  13. Not many people talk about street surfaces. How many people have done a training session on broken concrete with curbs and sharp pointy street furniture. Everything is a weapon or a barrier.

  14. Toes stomp is the best option. You CAN'T fall over as you're basically not even kicking. Second, the natural reaction to that is to limp away using your arms for balance. That's when you make them eat their own dentures.
P.S. doesn't apply if the opponet is wearing boots or work shoes.
