HOUSTON, TX (April 1, 2026) – Monday night, a man died in a brutal 3-vehicle crash on Interstate 45 near Rankin Road.

The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 45 near Rankin Road.

Authorities said all northbound lanes of the I-45 North Freeway were temporarily closed before Rankin Road but have since reopened.

Investigators said a man was attempting to cross the freeway when he was struck by at least three vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
