  1. I live in Wisconsin and I'm now retired but when i worked I would carry a small plastic jar with rock salt (sometimes kitty litter) in my coat pocket or bag in winter for those occasional slick spots.

  2. Handrails are there for a reason. And since y’all live in a cold climate, why do you run out on semi frozen ponds? Surely you hear, every year, about people and often their rescuers, drowning in such situations. Think. It could save your life.

  3. Thanks for reminding me why I live in the deep south. We rarely get a dusting of it, maybe every once in a while and when we do get some everything stops. Only lasts for maybe a day. January 13th today and it was 68 degrees. Love it.

  4. As someone who grew up testing my grandfather's cattle pond to make sure the ice was at least 6" thick – these people are idiots. Also warm shoes on fresh snow and ice are anathema. Let your shoe soles get cold before moving. It's not that hard.

  5. Sliding and falling over on ice, I don't get it, healthcare in the US is so expensive. Why don't they wear icegrippers/snow cleats over their footwear, instead of risking broken bones and hospital bills.

  6. Where's the ice melt or salt for the walks or driveways? try cleaning the entire step or steps. Wood steps, walk or beams will retains a thin layer of ice for frost.

  7. These were perfect, especially when the husband goes out to do something noble and starts sliding down the driveway or falls after taking just two steps onto ice, you can hear the wife start laughing. Hilarious!
