The St. Francis Dam disaster… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Francis_Dam
My town remembers the Vermont flood quite well.
We got flooded more in the past few decades.
We had an earthquake down here in São Paulo in 1922. It NEVER happened again, fortunately.
There is an interesting book "Rising tide, the flood that changed America" about the 1928 Mississippi flood.
Mother nature once again shows us who is boss. Unreal.
We have learned so much from these disasters, it is such a shame so many died, as we learned. But the more that we document, the more we can do.
