  14. My mom didn't mind if i played N64 when i stayed home sick. Her compromise was that i lay down until around lunchtime, then i can play as much as i want until they come home(when Mom and Dad came home, games went off and we watched regular TV).

    My own kids, we let them play on their devices when sick, but they have to stay in their rooms(as they get older, we will be flexible on this, depending on how sick they are, and if they have anything concerning like strep, fever, severe cold, etc. They dont mind it at all.

  16. Based on the mother’s reaction, I wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t the first time the streamer did something like this.
    Besides, missing school without a real reason other than “I want to play games” is truancy and is illegal. Both the parents and child can face consequences for that. And it’s normal to not allow a young child to play games when they are sick. It could give them the mentality that they can just fake an illness to play games all day.
    Of course, the streamer clearly isn’t a young child, and he probably isn’t faking it. But there is still the possibility that he misses school frequently so the mother has a right to be angry for that, especially if there’s the possibility of legal action.

    All in all, I think they both could have done a better job to prevent their disagreement in the first place. Maybe communicating with the mother before playing games could have helped, or the mother could have started a little more calm.

Sure he might be sick but he should be spending his time sick trying to get better… And she clearly cares about his education and his future… Free time is free time, but he should be investing his time getting better…

This is old and shit but the mom isn't necessarily pissed that he's playing game or missed a day of school but the fact he lied to play games (and don't say that doesn't happen video games have become an addiction and I hope that kid grew up to mature) he should've just apologized and go to bed it's just one day

  35. Lmao what a joke. She’s a legit shitty parent. She going out of her way to punish him because he didn’t go to school. Hell if my child claimed to be sick once in a blue I would let him/her chill at home even if I didn’t think they were really sick. Besides the fact that if you are sick, unless you have a pounding headache or really bad nausea there’s no reason you can’t play video games while you are sick. The whole real reason you don’t go to school when you are sick isn’t just because you aren’t capable of going. It’s so you don’t get the other kids sick.

  46. I've had this same goddamn problem as a kid. Everytime I got sick, my mom would unplug my TV, my consoles, my computer, everything. Like what the fuck I'm sick not suspended! You really think sitting around with a controller in my hands pressing buttons is going to make me more sick? Calm the fuck down. If you want to REALLY know I'm sick, check the damn thermometer. I swear to god even as I was coughing and sneezing like no tomorrow while playing a game, my mom STILL got pissed and thought I was faking my sickness to play games. And it wasn't the stupid fake ones either. Like mucus-ey coughs and violent sneezes. xP

    So glad I'm an adult now lol
