22. A Case for Nuclear Power.
    Nuclear power is the answer to weather disasters and our energy future. It is the key to powering our electric future and meeting the rapidly growing demand from electric vehicles.

    We should build Generation 4 nuclear power plants on an assembly-line basis and deploy them worldwide as fast as we build a Walmart.
    This approach will dramatically cut the cost of construction.

    Superstorms, extreme weather, and electricity shortages can all be solved by using off-the-shelf nuclear power technology.

    Small modular reactors, for instance, have been used in our military ships since the 1950s.

    Nuclear power can fuel our electric future, including the vast fleets of electric cars and trucks that will soon dominate our roads, and provide the energy needed to scrub carbon from the atmosphere.

    We all benefit from abundant electricity that doesn't destroy our planet.

    The Benefits of Modern Nuclear Power.

    * Versatility: Nuclear power can produce hydrogen for trucks, buses, RVs, and airplanes.

    It can also be scaled up and down to complement wind and solar power.

    * Waste Management: Generation 4 nuclear power plants can burn more waste than they create.

    They can also reuse existing nuclear waste, a process that France has been doing for many years.

    * Safety and Security:
    These plants are non-proliferation and "walk-away safe." They have a small footprint, about the size of a Home Depot, and can be located next to hospitals or large retail centers in any community.

    * Efficient Design:
    They can provide steam for heating our cities and can be small enough for a cruise ship or a small town.

    Generation 4 nuclear plants can also be linked in a series to power large metropolitan areas and be part of a local power grid alongside wind and solar.

    Addressing Public Misconceptions.

    Nuclear power is over 99% safer than petroleum product extraction and better for the environment.

    If you don't believe me, look at the number of deaths every year from extracting fossil fuels.

    We must stop using the air we breathe as a trash can and address how petroleum products contaminate our drinking water.

    The media and politicians must stop using nuclear power as a fear-mongering tactic.

    They have blood on their hands from every superstorm and every year that goes by while the public is afraid of nuclear power.

    We need to have field trips for kids and parents to see that nuclear power isn't scary.

    We should also commission artists and schoolchildren to paint murals on the sides of these plants.

    The Real Disaster.
    Don't let the media and politicians scare you with stories about past nuclear incidents.

    What's the real disaster?
    The only disaster is the "pigs at the trough" who, in the name of nuclear safety, are siphoning up public utility and tax dollars for so-called cleanup.

    People have been working at these plants since day one, yet these same individuals lead you to believe it's some scary thing.

    The nuclear safety people are a parasite on the business, making it so expensive that it can never be built.
