Norway has some of the world’s best king crab you will ever taste! And today we’ll be going to the source, a place called Kirkenes, in Northern Norway for a taste of the freshest Norwegian King Crab you can possibly get, plucked directly from the Barents Sea, boiled and steamed, and we’ll taste it directly from the sea!

A huge thank you to Snowhotel Kirkenes (Snow Resort Kirkenes: https://www.snowresortkirkenes.com/) and Dirk for taking me on this epic King Crab Safari, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience, and without a doubt the best tasting single crab I’ve ever had in my life.

Fishing – But first Dirk took us fishing in the Barents Sea, we headed out on the boat and got fishing immediately. Along with a bunch of small fish, we managed to catch a small cod fish, which was perfect for dinner.

Crab Safari – The Crab Safari is the highlight, and it’s one of the top reasons you should visit Kirkenes, Norway. You pull the crabs right out of the sea and cook them up moments later in the fisherman hut. Get ready for the best tasting crab of your life!

Fish Meal – Finally, we headed back to the Snow Resort Kirkenes where the Chef made us an amazing dinner using the cod we caught in the morning.

Thank you for watching this video and if you love crab, you have to visit Kirkenes in your lifetime!

  1. URgh. We are planning a Norway trip in 2027. But this might be very expensive. Both myself, my wife and our two daughters love king crab lol.

  2. I really love your videos from Norway Mark, and they make me wanting to travel there again. I was there many years ago on an interail backpacker trip with extremely limited budget. Now, I am older and have more budget – so different things are possible 🙂.

As I love crab (the last crab I had was on Sado Island in Niigata-ken this March), I really look forward to enjoy this video. Thank you very much for sharing all those wonderful places with us.

  3. Oh wowww. A delicious new video from Mark…. Can't wait to see the crunchiness of the bites. The sweetness of the amazing scenery, the silkiness combined with the chewiness, andthe crispiness of the crescendo as he describes a culinary scene. The taste. The smells, the sounds. The wide open eyes as he bites and then the closed eyes whilst savouring the tastes. OH wowww!!!!

  4. Lord Buddha's teachings are based on Ahimsa. Therefore Lord Buddha's teachings do not encourage eating meat. Also the Pancha Seela which means five resolutions Buddhists must follow on their own do not encourage killing of animals. Lord Buddha taught that bad karma will come behind a person who kill animals or encourage killing animals. Eventhough you don't kill animals you eat so much meat. So in order to avoid bad karma coming after you I kindly request you to do some animal welfare video blogs as well. Thankyou.
