Pick my Brain 1-1 Call with Tony

TONY – Pick My Brain

Olympic boxer Tony Jeffries hits the famous Venice Beach boardwalk to ask one bold question: “Can you fight?” In this video, Tony finds out who’s actually been in a real street fight and how they think they’d react if trouble started. These street interviews reveal raw, honest answers about self-defense confidence, real-life fight reactions, and whether being big and strong truly means you know how to handle yourself in a fight.

How to Throw a Punch in a Fight

Some guys boast they’d throw punches without hesitation, one even claims he’ll fight anyone anytime. Others are more cautious, admitting they might freeze up or walk away, while a few say they’d only fight back to protect someone they care about. The range of answers shows the difference between feeling confident and being prepared for a real street fight, and whether instinct or actual self-defense training matters more when violence happens.

Tony shares his expert perspective as an Olympic medalist and boxing coach, explaining why trained fighters stay calm, avoid unnecessary fights, and know how to defend themselves safely. Meanwhile, untrained men often overestimate their abilities when a fight breaks out. This mix of bravado, honesty, and real stories reveals powerful lessons about self-defense psychology, how to handle a street fight, and the importance of learning how to fight properly.

This video is more than just street entertainment, it’s a wake-up call about why learning to fight matters and how self-defense training for beginners builds true confidence that muscles alone can’t.

💬 What would you do if someone punched you out of nowhere? Would you fight back or walk away? Share your answer in the comments, and subscribe for more real-world self-defense tips, street fight breakdowns, and boxing lessons from an Olympic boxer.

  1. And there it is! 95% of dudes are badasses 😂 (I'd put myself at the 60th percentile…maybe 🤷🏻‍♂️ Former Marine, some martial arts, boxing for workouts only for 10 years).

  2. I have a black belt in Kyokushin Karate, which I’ve been practicing for 12 years straight, plus 2 years of kickboxing before that. I’ve also had small episodes of capoeira, Krav Maga, boxing, and a few Jiu-Jitsu trainings. After countless sparrings and even a few street fights, I’m still not sure I can really say I know how to fight — and there are definitely some people I don’t want to mess with.😂

  3. An Englishman with bad tattoos and a flat face asking if you can fight has nothing at all to lose 😂 To be fair Tony can fight as a sports man. None of the guys say that they have an inner rage that burns through their eyes demanding that they destroy anyone that threatens them using any tactic and any advantage. Martial Arts demand control and what you really need to do is lose control. And ejaculate in their ears. It works every time! 😮

  4. From experience of watching street fights and being in street fights, initially foes try to inflict as much damage as possible in the shortest amount of time, and if both are still standing after that it becomes a wrestling match.

  5. You had more patience than me with glass bottle man mate, i would have lost it when he was that close, you simply laughed. Good on ya mate. And for the record, I done jujitsu, kickboxing and sumo at Wallsend boys club back in the day for 6 years with the legend Geordie Chambers. Done a little bit of Wing Chung which was a load shit and a little bit of Thai. Getting too old now tho!
