When a stray dog wandered into a cat sanctuary in Texas, no one expected her to stay. But “Dog” didn’t just find a home, she changed everything. From breaking up cat fights to winning over the most feral residents, Dog became the sanctuary’s gentle protector. And her most surprising admirer? A wary little cat named Pig, who’d never trusted anyone, until Dog. What began as a temporary rescue turned into a life-changing love story that continues to touch every heart on the property.
In this video, watch how Dog’s arrival transformed the lives of dozens of rescue cats, especially Pig. Their unexpected friendship is more than cute, it’s healing.

  1. I visited your website – the writing is excellent, it really shows your priorities are with the animals you care for! The writer is so good at copywriting & maybe they could also write a book about how your sanctuary got started & stories of the animals like this video tells. One alarming thing though came at the end of the page of your folks's website, that shows a darling artwork of kitty cats but shockingly, in their midst it also shows a cowboy on horseback who is swirling a lasso. I wonder if you could please remove that image of the cowboy swirling a lasso

  2. All the body checking and face rubbing behavior is in fact the cats scent marking Dog. The more scent Dog carries, the more scent marking behavior Dog attracts from other previously uninterested cats. They're trying to spread their scent OVER the markings previously left by others. It's like a snowball effect. LOL.

  3. okay, so you named that dog "Dog" because you didn't intent to keep him. But naming that cat "Pig"? Do you also have bird named "Cat" to make things extra confusing?

  4. Dog arrived when and where she was needed and fit right in. She's strong and silent and such a good girl. Is it maybe time to hire a new, younger dog? She can be Dog's apprentice and learn the ropes as she grows. She'll become the new lil bestie for the cats and be a part of the team from puppyhood.

  5. The dog deserves a REAL name instead of the incredibly stupid name "dog." Put a little thought into it and do better. That's even worse than my mother calling EVERY cat ever that had kittens "mamma cat." Give me a break!
