The severe weather, with heavy rain and wind gusts reaching 90 km/h (56 mph), disrupted daily life in the Île-de-France region, which includes #Paris and seven surrounding departments.
A tornado ripped through Puerto Varas in minutes. 4 kilometers long and 300 meters wide: that was the path of the destructive tornado, with wind speeds of up to 178 km/h. As a result, roofs were torn off, power poles were toppled, and people were clinging to railings to avoid being blown away by the strong winds. More than 12,500 homes were left without power, and streets were blocked.

On May 22, up to 220 mm of rain fell in just 12 hours in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province. This caused widespread flooding, with streets, city districts, and the grounds of Wuhan University inundated. The meteorological service issued its first-ever “rainfall emergency warning” and issued a red alert.
Due to heavy rainfall, a state of emergency has been declared in the province of Buenos Aires. One of the country’s key bridges, the Zarate-Brazo Largo, connecting the province with the Greater Buenos Aires region, has been closed.
In total, more than 3,000 people were evacuated, hundreds of homes were flooded, there are disruptions in road traffic and reports of three missing people in the area of the city of Roxas.
