The fighting marks a dramatic escalation in a long-running dispute between the two Southeast Asian neighbors. Thailand said over 100,000 people have so far been displaced. The United Nations Security Council is due to hold an emergency meeting on Friday to discuss the ongoing border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia.
A long-running border dispute erupted into intense fighting on Thursday, with violence flaring near two temples on the border between Thailand’s Surin province and Cambodia’s Oddar Meanchey. Both countries blame the other for triggering the latest clashes. While Cambodia fired rockets and shells into Thailand, the Thai military scrambled F-16 jets to hit military targets across the border.
Clashes continue for a second day
The fighting continued for a second day early on Friday, Thai authorities said. They also claimed that Cambodia was using heavy weapons, including artillery and rockets. “Cambodian forces have conducted sustained bombardment utilizing heavy weapons, field artillery, and BM-21 rocket systems,” the Thai military said in a statement. “Thai forces have responded with appropriate supporting fire in accordance with the tactical situation.” The Thai Interior Ministry said the death toll on their side had risen to 14. It added that over 100,000 people from four border provinces had been moved to nearly 300 temporary shelters. The exact number of casualties in Cambodia remains unclear. A Cambodian provincial official said on Friday that at least one Cambodian civilian was killed and five others injured. Around 1,500 Cambodian families from Banteay Ampil district in the Oddar Meanchey province near the conflict zone have been evacuated to safety, Meth Meas Pheakdey, a spokesperson for the provincial administration, said on Facebook.

Cambodia wants peace
❤❤
❤❤❤
To our foreigner friends,
After the ceasefire, at Ances border thai soldiers lured Cambodian soldiers to shake hands and take pictures for memory. Cambodia soldiers agreed honestly as they obeyed the ceasefire agreement. But this is the cruel tricks. Thai soldiers hiding in the forest came out to point guns at 20 Cambodian soldiers. One Cambodian soldier escaped alive. maybe 2 killed and 18 captured. This is the cruel Thai soldiers that violated the ceasefire agreements. Thailand never wants peace as thai media said so. Now all foreigners can see clearly with their own eyes that Thailand never wants peace and wants to provoke conflicts again and again. On behalf of Cambodian people, I would like to ask for all super power countries ie. USA, China and Europe and Asian community to condemn Thailand for invading Cambodia and put pressure on Thailand to release Cambodian soldiers back.
The countries surrounding Cambodia know what Cambodia is like. Keep lying. There are only Cambodia people who believe in their own government. Neighbours' comments are all in the same direction. If Cambodia changes its leader, you will know how good Thailand is. In this era, we can't lie to each other anymore. Everything has evidence
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pray for Cambodia
Cambodia need peace
Justice for Cambodia 🇰🇭🙏🏻🙏🏻😢
The Siamese bandits invaded Cambodian territory on July 24. All these Siamese bandits have wanted Cambodian territory since history until now. Today, Cambodia is fighting back to defend itself. Cambodia has no choice but to fight back.

Excuse me, did the file reporter go directly to both fired places, or only stand in Thailand and make the report about Cambodia?
May 28, 2025 Cambodian soldier killed in clash with Thai army at disputed border.
July 23, 2025 Thailand expelled the Cambodian ambassador.
July 24, 205 around 6:30am Thai soldiers had opened fire on Cambodian troops first, at a temple claimed by both nations,
called Prasat Ta Moan Thom by the Cambodians and Prasat Ta Muen Thom by the Thais.
Cambodian forces returned fire between 15 to 30 minutes later.
Prasat Ta Moan Thom its Khmer name translates literally to "Great Temple of Grandfather Chicken".
Prasat meaning Temple
Moan meaning Chicken
Thom meaning Great or Huge
What is Prasat Ta Moan Thom in meaning in Thai language? What is Huge in Thai language?
It lies not far from two related temples in a densely forested area where access is difficult on one of the passes through the Dangrek Mountains of Cambodia.
is what we got after the war broke out on the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th in 5 days.
If you look at Thailand, this is certainly one of the biggest wars that Thailand has ever fought in the past 45 years, or in the past four decades. In the past four decades, Thailand has fought with Laos, Burma, and Malaysia, but never on such a large scale. Even the war with Cambodia in 2008-2011 was not this big. In the past five days of war, Thailand has unleashed all its might, whether it is using modern tanks, F-16 fighter jets (violating the law on arms sales to the US), or Gripen fighter jets, heavy artillery, cluster bombs (violating international law), and even toxic smoke bombs (violating international law). During the outbreak of this war, at first, Thailand was stubborn and refused to compromise.

Everything just happened on the 4th day of the war.
Agree to negotiate even though they lost heavily.
Thailand would like to emphasize that we deeply desire peace and value harmony. Over the past several days, we have exercised great patience and refrained from responding with violence. However, it has become impossible to avoid retaliation, as Cambodia has repeatedly attacked and heavily targeted civilian areas, including hospitals, schools, and homes.
Thailand has a duty to protect and safeguard the lives of its people. Even so, our responses have remained strictly limited to military zones.
We urge everyone to verify information from the Thai side, as we have clear evidence for every action we take. Please consider the facts carefully.😢
In the dispute between Cambodia and Thailand over the Mom Bei area, the Ta Moan Thom Temple and the Ta Kra Bei Temple. Thailand initially claimed that the Ta Moan Thom Temple, which is in Cambodian territory, belonged to Thailand and shot and killed a Cambodian soldier. Cambodia requested Thailand to negotiate peacefully and requested that Thailand resolve the dispute at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), but Thailand rejected the request and accused the international organization of the ICJ of unfairly resolving the dispute. Cambodia responded that if Thailand did not agree to go to the ICJ, Cambodia would unilaterally file a complaint with the ICJ. Thailand then threatened to cut off electricity, internet, and fuel supplies to Cambodia, and unilaterally closed the border without notifying Cambodia in advance, even for foreigners returning to Thailand. Cambodia responded by closing the border crossings in the same manner, banning the use of Thai products, and banning the screening of Thai dramas in all cinemas. But Thailand acted maliciously and spread false information, accusing Cambodia of closing the border to prevent Thai goods from entering Cambodian territory and accusing Cambodia of invading Thailand, which led to Thai soldiers shooting and killing a Cambodian soldier. Thailand always acted maliciously and painted Cambodia. However, Thai soldiers often violated the border line, often patrolling Cambodian territory, which continued to spread old mines that had not been cleared, left over from the war. Thailand used the excuse of accusing Cambodia of being an international crime and asked to clear mines along the border line. During that time, Thailand gained access to tanks and tank bases. After that, Thailand continued to urge Cambodians in Bangkok to return to Cambodia, and then launched attacks on Cambodian soldiers, which prompted the Cambodian Prime Minister to order a counterattack. Thailand also flew F-16 aircraft into Cambodian territory to drop bombs that damaged Cambodian heritage sites registered with UNESCO. But once again, Thailand continued to create false information and continued to paint Cambodia as the one who started the war. Cambodia wants to tell the world that Cambodia does not want war and does not want to invade anyone's territory.
Land of Smile vs Land of Scam.
“My personal analysis in English Version”
This is just my personal analysis, but I hope it can offer some perspective to our fellow Cambodians regarding the Thai-Cambodian conflict.
– Root of the Issue
From my point of view, the conflict initiated by the Thai military against Cambodia stems from their political maneuvering against the government linked to the Thaksin family.
– Why does the Thai military oppose Thaksin?
Based on my research, Thaksin enjoys widespread popularity among the Thai people, which poses a threat to the power held by the monarchy and Thailand's old power structure.
– How is Cambodia involved?
In my analysis, this is a diversionary strategy—a way to shift public attention from internal tensions through an external conflict. The Thai military uses this approach to rally public support, making people trust and support the military. By framing Cambodia as the aggressor, they stir public anger, which is then redirected toward the current Thai government linked to Thaksin.
As we've seen in recent news, it's often the Thai military provoking the conflict, while the Thai government tries to seek peaceful resolutions.
– Why does Thailand spread false information and portray Cambodia negatively?
By spreading misinformation and distorting Cambodia's image, it may appear as though Thailand is attacking Cambodia. However, behind the scenes, it’s a calculated move to incite public anger—not at Cambodia, but at the Thai government.
For instance, after the acting Thai Prime Minister reached a ceasefire agreement with Cambodia, the Thai military accused the government of breaking the law. Even though both sides agreed to a ceasefire, the Thai domestic media continued portraying Cambodia as the aggressor. This allowed the military to redirect public frustration toward the Thai government.
Cambodia is a victim
Cambodia is essentially a victim in this situation, caught in the crossfire of Thailand's internal political struggle—particularly the military's fear of losing power and legitimacy as public support dwindles.
So what can we, as Cambodians, do?
1. Trust in our government
We must continue to trust our government. Based on past outcomes, it’s clear that our leaders—Samdach and the Prime Minister—understand Thailand’s provocations well. They have consistently responded with calm, patience, and strategic diplomacy.
While the Thai military may try to escalate the situation, our leaders have pursued peaceful solutions. In the past, we brought the case to the ICJ, and more recently, we’ve turned to ASEAN for resolution.
2. Don’t respond with anger
What the Thai side wants is chaos and mutual hatred. Instead of reacting emotionally to false information, we should respond with reason and evidence. This not only exposes the truth but also shows the world Cambodia’s maturity and dignity.
3. Stay united
Now is a critical time for us to come together, strengthen our national spirit, and maintain unity. We’ve already begun doing this—and we’re doing it well.
Again, this is only my personal analysis. But no matter what, as I’ve said, I encourage all Cambodians to have faith in our leadership. They are thoughtfully and effectively handling the situation.
As a Cambodian, I request all international media outlets to monitor the news published from both countries clearly and judge fairly.
Cambodia needs peace. Let find truth in Cambodia
The difference between Thaialand and Cambodia pertaining tobthe evacuation is Cambodian help themself but Thai local government and central government fully support shelters, foods and medication on site. As well as security of premises of evacuees. Numerous foodstuff fron all over tue entire country donated to provinces affected from the fight.
The Cambodian people deeply love peace because our nation has endured the painful scars of war(The Killing Fields are sites in Cambodia where collectively more than 1.3 million people were killed). Many families were torn apart, countless lives and happiness were lost. It was a cruel experience that we never want to see repeated. That is why Cambodia has chosen peace as a priceless and non-negotiable path forward. 🌍
Just ask the neighbors Lao, Vietnam, and etc they knew how Cambodia behaved. To be honest, Cambodia is not friendly to everyone for a long time A lot of scam went on there this was supported by many USA and China media which is trustable!! Not just a claim without an evidence and proof
Do you believed that F-16 fighter jets with cluster bombs Killed only soldiers? That was not trued. I believed that it was war crime to use that kind of bombing.
They always use the excuse, “We’re a small country.”
Their leaders “Hun Sen and Hun Manet” keep fueling hatred toward neighboring countries to stir up nationalism. It’s a political tool they use to boost their own popularity and distract people from their failures. They’ve been running the country for over 30 years and haven’t done anything meaningful to develop Cambodia. Neighboring countries are tired of the same old playbook provoking border conflicts just to play the victim on the world stage.Honestly, no one wants to take Cambodian land. It’s not something anyone sees as a prize. it would just be a burden.
The Siamese are the ones who are causing the war and spreading false information. Please consider and look at the information carefully before spreading it.
Combodia break ceasefire !!!
People will not visit Cambodia but will visit Thailand. Can this tell you ?
Cambodia ยิงก่อน
Thai destroyed there own 7/11 and how cambodia artillery reach 120km not 20km and thai blame it on us
Today, the Cambodian leader lied again. Thailand used chemical weapons. Thailand shot at gas stations. Thailand shot at hospitals. Shot civilians. Shot at 3 castles. Can Hun Sen not flee abroad? Can we watch VTO?
We won against Thailand.
Is there anything that Cambodia doesn't lie about? 100% of the lies are copied from foreign videos. Is it better to stay silent?
There is an advantage to this incident. International organizations such as the United States and China should look into Cambodia to see if there are any call center thieves in Cambodia.
Cambodia called for the matter to be resolved legally through the ICJ, but Thailand refused, fearing an unfavorable ruling.
Only a THIEF dreads the fair and rightful application of the law. (100% makes sense).
The Prime Minister of Thailand has shown an inability to manage military affairs effectively; therefore, during meetings with the ASEAN Chair and representatives from the U.S. and China, it is essential to request that the Thai PM remain consistent in his positions and refrain from deceptive actions.
Thailand is facing serious internal political tensions. The Thai military, controlled by the king, is in conflict with the civilian government led by the prime minister, who has no control over the army. To distract from this crisis, they’ve turned their attention toward Cambodia
I am Cambodian, all of us need peace. We don't create war we protect our country.
The clash point is at Prasat Ta Muen Thom, historically, Prasat Ta Muen Thom is Khmer in origin — and Thailand did not even exist when it was constructed.
Luckily, Cambodia has great leader who loves peace as other leaders in Asian community, especially as the president of united states Donald J Trump. Thank you very much the president Donald J Trump for initiating peace talks between Cambodia and Thailand.
“Don’t Thai to me.”
Meaning: don’t act like the victim when you’re really the aggressor!
If Thailand REALLY wants peace, go to ICJ.
🇰🇭 English Version – Global Call for Justice:
Please help raise awareness for Cambodia. Right now, Thailand is aggressively attempting to invade Cambodian territory.
Thailand is a larger, more powerful country — militarily and economically — yet they are choosing to pressure and harm a smaller, weaker neighbor. Cambodia seeks peace and resolution through lawful and diplomatic means, but Thailand responds with force.
This is not just a border issue. This is a threat to justice, sovereignty, and human dignity.
Why does Thailand not dare to bring the case to the International Court of Justice (ICJ)?
What are you afraid of?
We, the Cambodian people, want a peaceful resolution.
Cambodia has never desired war with any country. We are a nation committed to peace, stability, and mutual respect. However, when Thailand initiated aggression against Cambodia, it became necessary for us to defend our sovereignty and protect our people. Peace remains our principle, but national defense is our right.
I am Cambodian and I am here not to tell you to believe in me, but to understand the stories of both side and then make the decision because I believe that the truth will never fade away even when the lies is faster.
Preah Vihear temple was attacked and Thailand always claims that the temple is theirs, but how can they do that? The answer is simple: YOU DESTROYED IT BECAUSE IT ISN’T YOURS.😢
By the way that place is Si Sa Ket province not Ubon Rajatani.
On the fifth day of the war, when Thailand invaded Cambodian territory, Thailand tried to use all kinds of heavy weapons on Cambodia without fear of international law.
Thailand started the war before Cambodia, just to defend itself ❤️Give justice to my country too 🇰🇭
Save thailand❤
Cambodia is a peaceful nation with a rich and ancient history rooted in the glory of the Khmer Empire, whose legacy includes world-renowned temples like Angkor Wat and Prasat Ta Muan Thom. Sadly, Thailand has long claimed parts of Cambodia’s land and heritage, especially our temples. Historically, Thailand did not even exist on the map during the height of the Khmer civilization. Yet, some Thai historians and educators have rewritten history to suggest that Cambodians are living on Thai land. This false narrative has been widely promoted, often misleading the international community. With a larger population and louder voice, Thailand has been able to spread misinformation. But despite being smaller, Cambodia has always chosen the path of peace, seeking only to protect its culture, identity, and rightful history.🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭
How a small country start a war with a big one?
The Thai military used suicide drones, cluster munitions and toxic smoke in their attacks on Cambodian soldiers at Phnom Khmaoch and An Ses on July 27, said Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Defence Ministry, in a briefing on the morning of July 28.
