1. Ferrets care amazing pets, but are they more pain than pleasure? I hope you enjoy my PROS & CONS of owning ferrets. Do you have any to add?

2. Legit lost my ferret once. I checked inside and under every piece of furniture in the room. No ferret. 2 hours later, she reappeared. To this day I have no idea where she had been napping

4. My ferret keeps trying to get into my cupboards that is slightly open cuz I won’t shut all the way 😭

5. Ferrets kill chickens with no mercy. I lost countless chickens by now. It can be superficial to fall for the cute face and be unaware of their nature.

6. Shoes and bags they love to. Open ur windows from the top not bottom almost lost my ferrets because of it. I love my pets.

7. So basically all you really need to do is make sure that there are no holes in your house so your ferret escape into the wild👍🏼

8. i used to keep my ferrets in the balcony and sometimes the cage would be left open and there was always one that would stay in the cage and the other would go underneath our shed and be all in the dirt, and each time i would think shes gine shes always there. my sister saved her as there was a snake near by her one time, i put them inside now as its too hot

11. I had 6 ferrets and dipite laying bricks all around the fence, they got out in the afternoon about 3pm. I was gone for two minutes. I look all over the ravine behind the house till dark. Every half hr all night. They all came back at 3:30 in the morning. It was their first time out of the yard. What a relief. HAMILTON ONTARIO CANADA

16. Ferrets do having a homing instinct if you have other ferrets for them to smell & they're brought up with lots of care & attention to make them tame!

22. Our ferrets found ways to scale closets, and wiggle their way into our ceilings and rafters. They were disaster pets, but I absolutely loved them. So fun to play with & very affectionate. If I had a separate room I would get a whole business of them, but that’s the only way I would ever own ferrets again

25. There’s definitely a chance your ferret can come back home to you! My ferret somehow escaped outside and he came home scratching at our door at 5 in the morning in the rain, brought him to my room and he cuddled with me in my bed, my best friend ❤

26. Protip: train your furrbabies to come to the sound of a squeaky toy. That way, if they do dash out an open door or squeeze into an unknown hole, you have a chance of getting the little adventuring rascals back! All you need to do is squeak the toy, and give them a treat. Remember, consistency is key. Eventually, they will come running everytime they hear the toy. Be warned, if only one person squeaks.. they might run to that person instead of the toy, though. Happy ferreting!

Omg I can relate I have two One is blind and deaf has diabetes, and one is perfectly fine, but also a real menace he likes to play bite but it doesn’t hurt his name is Ollie and he’s white and the other one is a raccoon looking one and his name is Mika and he’s a sweetheart. He loves to cuddle.❤❤❤❤

34. Here's something you MUST know about female ferrets! She MUST be spayed, of mated with a male. When females go into "heat," they stay that way, until they mate. It's very stressful, and if no male is available, they eventually die. I once had a ferret that passed away because of that fact. Not even the vet I took her to (he WASN'T a ferret specialist) was aware of that fact. He did his best to save her, but without success.

36. Yes! You’ll never be done “ferret proofing” one solution causes another puzzle for them to solve. Another con is vet bills. They are amazing little beings though. Mine come back to my door when I take them outside on a leash. I used to walk my first, he’s resting now, but we would walk the block and he would lead me back home. He would go to the door at the same time every day because he loved his walks. RIP Dwayne love you forever and always 🤍

37. There is no such thing as ferret proofing your house or apartment 😅

38. I have problem with my new ferret.

    I took her in for adoption but she has never been raised well from early age.

    She has a curious sweet character and does not want to do mean bites.

    But she bites really rough with playing or when I want to get her out of her cage. She really want to go for our hands. What can I do?

40. Mines escaped 4 times. 3 of witch she has left the garden. 2 she was was gone foe a week anotjer 2 weeks. But she always comes back on her own

41. Mine got out twice but came back after a few hours, I had two tho and they never both escaped at the same time so I'm not sure.

    But if you have them long enough I think they'll usually come back and not go too far, they like to explore but they love their family 🙂

45. Ferret cave diver?!

46. I've had 2 ferrets growing up and they are one of the best mates you can have. They'll sleep right up under you and will also run away by instinct. Keep well of the ones you love.
