North American Arms makes some really nice pocket .22 Mag pistols.
They stopped making them because of the Brady Bill. Brady got shot with one when he got in front of a round for the president and it was a 22 mag. You couldn't even get a 22 mag revolver back then after that he got shot. They took them. Everybody quit banking them
I have a Ruger Single Ten revolver that makes it impossible for magnum so I bought a Heritage for the magnum cylinder.
22 magnum, my favorite, caliber
Got a Henry Silver Boy my favorite gum
Smith and Wesson make .22 Mag CCW revolvers.
I half to laugh at people that try to downplay the 22 mag lol
PM R 30 is a piece of s*it gun that does not cycle reliably!
the thing is after reloading 46years many calibers even with the gouge prices of reloading powder, primers, bullets in can still reload many pistol/revolver calibers much cheeper than 22mag. i love 22mag in rifle . I've seen recently 9mm from 12 to 19 dollars a box of 50rounds. 22mag going 17 to 20 dollars a box of 50 rounds. in reality and common sense for self defense and 3 1/2 in 9mm far better than a 3 1/2 in 22mag any hour of the day and cheeper to practice with. papa wishing yall well 😊
Um this is a re-post and the "AMAZING caliber" is .22 MAGNUM.
Too pricey!
Rimfire semiautomatic weapons have no place in self defense IMO. Centerfire only for semiautomatics. Rimfire MAYBE in a high cap revolver.
Many people have a difficult time operating many larger calibers automatics (not everyone who has use of an auto pistol is a 25-50 year old male in good shape)so there is a market. S&W, Kel Tec, and Walther all make 22 mag auto pistols.
Keep in mind that a .22 mag out of a snub nose revolver is only going 1050 fps. That's real close to .22lr.
Heratage….still does in mag .
She's sooo cute..just saying…
not reloadable
i'll pass
Thank you
I have several Colt Frontier Scouts with a .22 WMR cylinder
Walther WMP is new and on a few reviews.
last time I looked 22mag cost the same as 9mm & a rim fire too boot. however 9 mm is probably louder
Not an unknown round to me, though I don’t currently have any firearms chambered in it. For me it also doesn’t seem to fit in any “niche” I have a need for.
But I do know two people who have them. One friend of mine EDCs a NAA Pug .22 Magnum 5-shot derringer. That’s his exclusive EDC, too. I would never do that but it’s what he’s happy with. More power to him…a lot better than nothing.
Another friend of mine just might convince me to get one, based on his example. He’s got a Ruger “Single Nine”, 6 1/2” barrel, nine-shot, single action only revolver. He let me shoot it once and I confess that I fell in love. It’s very well made, and comes standard with bright green fiber optic sights. It is a pure joy to shoot; so accurate and satisfying from a firearm connoisseur’s point of view. Don’t have a practical application for it in my arsenal; if I got one, it would be exclusively for the sheer pleasure of shooting it at the range, period. I guess it would be the kind of gun you get just for fun, no other reason, after you’ve gotten everything you think you need.
Maybe as a retirement present to myself in a couple years…? 🤔
Most of the 22mag loadings aren't much faster than the 22lr by much in a pistol
ON A HUNTING TRIP I FOUND A WASHED OUT TRAFFIC SIGN. THESE SIGNS ARE MADE OF TEMPERED ALUMINUM, VERY TOUGH MATERIAL. ON A WHIM I SHOT THE SIGH VROM ABOUT 6 FEET AWAY WITH MY 38 s&w SPRCIA;. THE SIGN JUST GOT A SMALL DIMPLE. I THEN TOOK OU MY ITALIAN 22 MAGNUM. I SHOT THE SAME SIGN FROM THE SAME DISTANCE. THE ROUND LEFT A DIME SIZE HOLE IN THE SIGN AND BROKE A LARGE PIECE OF GRANITE BEHIND THE SIGN.

Diamondback Firearms Sidekick Birdshead .22LR/.22 WMR Revolver 3" 9rds, Black Cerakote – DB0600A001 Palmetto State Armory
Great. Another reupload.
AMT Automag 2, ss, 6" brl, 2 9rd mags. Obnoxious?…pretty much…I wouldn't want to be in front of it, for sure.
Arms Mart
I recently picked up 2 S&W 351PD J-frame revolvers (wife wanted one too). 7 rounds of 22mag and very light weight. More energy from 2 inch barrel (with correct ammo) than a 22LR fired from a rifle. It's an option to consider.
I have a Heritage and it is reliable and accurate!
One of my first guns is a Colt New Frontier SAA with a .22 mag cylinder. Bought it in '92. Still have it. It is shrill when you fire it.
Y’all forgot about the Taurus TX 22 original and the TX22 Compact!
I knew it was the 22mag before I clicked on this.
A 22mag rifle and a 9 shot 22mag revolver is what I keep in my truck. I do carry a 9mm iwb everyday but I like my 22mag backups.
