1. I converted back in 2007 when I was living in South Carolina. The church has ruined my life unfortunately my wife grew up in the church and she will believe this non sense until the day she dies. She is so indoctrinated and brainwashed and does not look outside the big picture she just follows this blindly and in the end I believe all she is blind. Unfortunately I still have to hear about the church because she is still a devout member the only way to get away from this garbage is a divorce but I don’t think that will happen. Mormons are very tricking just like they tricked me back in 2007 if I knew back then what I know now I would have never joined.

5. Apologists ask "how could Joseph have known" to attempt (unsuccessfully) to prove the Book of Abraham is real history. Actually, this question almost certainly proves the book is fraudulent: How could Joseph have known that 150 years after he wrote the Book of Abraham most historians would conclude that Abraham is a mythical figure, that there is no evidence outside the Bible that he existed, that the Biblical stories about Abraham were written over 1000 years after he supposedly lived and that Joseph's papyri date to 1500 to 1900 years after Abraham supposedly lived. Right. How could Joseph have known?

   Where Is the new 2025 essay found? Is it with the original essays? Does it state that it is new? Or does it replace the old? Or do they just incorporate it into the old essay?

11. Bill Reel, your magic trick analogy is a false analogy. I know the magician is performing a trick. After 200 years, I’m still trying to figure out Joseph’s trick. I’ve read enough to know what quality is, and it’s not easy to fake.

12. Diamond Dave hit the nail on the head so far as apologetics go, at least in my experience. I was an all-in, active, tithe paying member when I was researching the Lamanite DNA issue and found FAIRMORMON. The steaming pile of tapir crap I found there didn't just give me pause; it shoved me headlong down the rabbit hole and out of the church. Apologetic rationalizations, excuses, misdirection, and outright deceit are far more efficient and effective at leading people out than "anti-Mormonism" ever could be.

Do you think Joseph Smith was more intelligent and capable than you two, if so stop flapping your gums and create a book without the use of technology, to the same quality as he did in the same time period. If you don't them maybe you admit that all you can do it criticize, because you can't do anything else.

22. Mary the mother of Jesus is often depicted riding a donkey to Bethlehem, but there’s nothing in the scripture to indicate that she did. Maybe this is the example RFM was looking for.

23. Diamond Dave on what's the purpose of apologetics:

    1) It provides some academic sounding frame work for authority figures to point at for doubting members (appeal to authority regardless of the evidence). The hope is the doubting members either are convinced by the arguments or are satisfied that there are books of arguments that exist.

    2) The apologists themselves are making money writing books, being flown out to speak at events or lead tours, being paid to be teachers at BYU or funded by grants or Church education system money, getting paid by private journals funded by wealthy benefactors.

    3) Apologetics is comfort food for people who can't turn their brains off and subsist on faith alone.

25. They can't mention the truth, especially with it being based on a lie. BoM an inspired retelling of Adam Clark, and other writers, myths and folklore of his time.

26. Aren’t many of the apologetic points in the Abraham essay based on circular reasoning? Like most of their footnote references are material written by them. I’m trying to develop critical thinking skills especially logical fallacies.

29. Why would you use the book of Jasher as the example when Joseph smith translated Abraham in 1835. I think you should have used a different reference to Abraham being Sacrificed.
