Trump uses the two week answer because he doesn’t have to be held accountable and after two weeks go by that story will be out of the new cycle and most people will forget about it and if someone brings it up in the news, it won’t be relevant because it’s not put in front of us every day to remind us of what he said. Full stop.

20. Giving a deadline, i.e specifically two weeks, is like announcing to the whole world what the U.S. needs (time to maneuver ships, supplies, troop, etc) before….? That gives adversaries time to plan and prepare and respond or act via preemptive measures! Trump needs to keep his mouth shut about such things! IF the U.S. will respond, then President Trump just gave Iran a head's up, which puts American lives in danger.
