Why do we blame the single mothers who stuck around and not the fathers who left for child's disadvantages? 😭 "They need a father who can beat them up and the mother could never do that and she does not deserve the same respect and she's trying to be both roles which is bad so bad and the child becomes a beta". Often no mention of the dad's failure to show up, his not contributing any money or basic help, his deciding to show the child they can easily be abandoned.

10. Feminism isn't anti-man, just fyi. At first I thought you were joking about that but then you repeated it and sounded at least somewhat serious about it. Absolutely there are a lot of people who call themselves feminists and are fully anti-man without nuance or dialectics but supporting men is a fundamental tenant of feminism. Toxic Masculinity hurts men too.

15. I’m so tired of patriarchal rat race. Men who never turned around and saw, that patriarchy is not about them, but about powerful old rich people, who make them compete to become next “old rich man”.

    But it’s all an illusion, no man from 80% of population will become next rich man, they will become meat to throw in war zones, or cog in capitalistic mechanism. Just like as women. We both meat and work force for rich.

    The thing I don’t like about many “male rights” movements, is that many of them still regulate under patriarchal mechanisms of “competition”. There no competition. Men being sold power fantasy, women were sold fantasy of outside danger and men who can protect them. As the result – fantasies were (surprise) fake.

    This is why feminists fight. Not men, but power structures who still see them as life stock. But it harder for men to wake up, because they were main focus of benefits for a very long time. It’s actually interesting, that men who see actual face of gender roles are once who saw war and came back. They saw, that for government all of them were nothing but meet you can throw into meat grinder and than slap some medals on those who survived. Those men don’t believe anyone anymore

    Also “fatherless behaviour” is not a real problem, the problem is that men don’t hold each other accountable the way they jump at women. Men don’t stand up and say “shut your dumb ahh up”. They sit quietly, hoping no one saw them in company of said “dumb ahh”. For some reason, men unlearned how to cut “rotting hand” of their circle, probably because they are scared of “looking too soft”.

28. The common thread I keep hearing from the right is "The child needs to have someone to be afraid of, ie the father" which of course probably leads the kid to grow up afraid of the world. More specifically it makes them extremely susceptible to fearing anything the media tells them to. Fear so often leads to violence as a form of self preservation. It leads to self isolation which prevents any sort of ability to understand others, especially those who are different from you. It stunts person growth. Maybe we should stop raising children to be afraid of everything…

31. ”Fatherless behaviour” is one of the most cruel and pathetic ways of insulting someone. It’s deeply rooted in a backwards worldview and most often used to attack people simply for being queer.

    The fact that so many normal people seem to be completely fine with using such a vindictive phrase says a lot about society.

44. I was lucky enough to get a father that, while not terribly open emotionally, was always there for us, for anything. I learned a while back that he and my aunt found my grandfather intimidating, I was a bit shocked. How do you take care of someone who is afraid of you? How do you get respect from them? I don't think I'd learn much from someone if my brain was in emergency mode in their presence.

    I'm grateful that my father realised that himself.

45. I can never love my dad because as a child, i was only ever afraid of him. He's a good guy, who's always tried his best, but i kind of hate him because he was a cruel dominating sonofabitch who did his best to hurt me when he could.
