The Exorcist is a 1973 American horror film directed by William Friedkin and written for the screen by William Peter Blatty.

I saw this movie on video with my 12 and 16 year old brothers when I was 6 37 years ago and this scene made me turn green. I nearly fainted as it looked too real for a film medical scene.
I mean I could handle Freddy and all at that age but this scene was grounded in reality.
This particular arteriography depicted in the movie was quite gruesome in fact.
Typical angiography procedures are not as bloody for obvious reason (avoid freaking the patient out unnecessarily).
That and ofc, that particular field of medicine has and is currently still heavily scrutinised and regulated in so many fronts that there’s little to no room for margin and error for such situation such as the one seen depicted in this classic horror flick
It’s almost barbaric compared to modern 21st century standards rly.
