   Great video, really appreciated your emphasis on humanizing palestinian and yemeni children. As a yemeni myself, its rather disheartening to see people demonize this random kid who isnt even a houthi. They dont care about whats been happening in yemen for a decade, turned a blind eye to the starvation and bombings, but god forbid a country actually try to do something for palestine.

   I dont think people understand how horrible arabs feel about our governments sitting by as israelis killed our brothers and sisters. There has never been a time in my life where i havent felt that love for palestinian people. And when i went there myself, it only confirmed those feelings. Theyre just regular people trying to live their lives as normally as they can. When i told that i am yemeni, immediately i became family. I felt underserving of their hospitality when i felt that i done so little for their cause. And it didnt matter if it was a palestinian muslim or christian, that love was always there. Tbh i spent a lot of my time in bethlehem because there was something about that city that felt like home.

   One thing i wanted to point out is that the kidnapping of israelis is part of a larger strategy, to bring attention the their plight and cause, and its also used for negotiating the release of palestinian prisoners in exhange for releasing hostages. Wiki has a page of Arab–Israeli prisoner exchanges dating back to 1948. And im not sure if anyone else has recommended the youtube vid essay called the gaza ghetto uprising, but its fantastic. Its a pro palestinian israeli going over the background of october 7th, the day itself in great detail. He goes over how palestinians have mobilized against israel, in a way that was so empowering and encouraging to hear. and includes philosophy, as he discusses franz fanon, and the art of war. The best part is his sources, because he knows hebrew, he has access to so much more israeli media, books, etc.
