This is one of my favorites, if not favorite Kung Fu movies I've ever seen. The story line is just so real to life, it's magnificent! I love this movie! I wouldn't be surprised' if there aren't any Grammys awarded in this movie. The Actors were awesome! It really gives a good glimpse into the life of Ip Man, and those in which he affiliated with too. Long live the memory of Ip Man, Yiang Gong, and definitely Gong Er! She was truly, a great Martial Artist! And a wonderful daughter! Long live Wing Chun, and the memory of the 64 Hands Style! 💐💐🏆🏆❤❤

This movie is bad plot wise. It's all over the place. His wife is there, gives birth then disappears. He randomly fights people then it cuts to talking to the "council". I could go on and on. The Donnie yen versions have better story lines.

I never did understand the vow Gong Er took. and why she took it to avenge her father. By not marrying and having kids gave her the status of a man so she could fight?
I know this isn't historically 100% accurate. But it is a great film, nonetheless. I think it is beautifully filmed and solid acting all around with still a good story. Worthy of the man it honors. One of my all-time favorite martial arts movies. Music is really good too.
