On July 4, 2003, members of the Turkish Armed Forces and Turkmen soldiers under the command of a major, who established their headquarters in the Sulaymaniyah city of Northern Iraq, were put on sacks over their heads. Turkish soldiers were detained for 60 hours by soldiers of the American 173rd Air Brigade, which is affiliated with the occupation forces in Iraq. When you look at this incident, it is normal that Turkish people are still angry. The issue is not Syrians or Muslims, but the insult made to Turkish soldiers in 2003. The Turkish nation does not forget the insults and attacks made against them.

As a Turk, I condemn this attack on a soldier, a human being, who was walking there as a civilian. Türkiye is a member of Nato… All the terrorist activities in the Middle East cause a lot of damage to my country. This action is wrong. It is an action that has no consequences or benefits. It is an uncontrolled and unauthorized group of people from a political party trying to benefit from the government.
