First thing he is doing wrong is no safety equipment. No eye protection, no hearing protection, WEARING SANDALS AND SHORTS instead of work boots, long pants and no head protection. FAIL.

That was embarrassing to watch, especially when you declare experience. No head, face, or hearing protection, no gloves, no safety chaps, no safety boots, a bystander (your son!) In the danger zone. YOU acknowledge that the saw is too small for the task but use a dangerously inadequate saw anyway, on a monstrosity of a tree in congested confines. I know of no professional arborist who would ever fell a tree of that size from the base; it would be taken down from the top by a team using a crane. Ditto all the comments about your poor technique. A pro never face cuts deeper than 1/3rd, preferably less than 1/4, lest the tree barberchair. A pro never back cuts at a downward angle, lest the hinge split and shear, with the tree falling anywhere without control. You were out of your class before you possessed that machine, and you should never run anything more dangerous than a pencil.

I’m not an expert in cutting large trees but, even I can see this guy is dangerous to be around. No safety equipment. Miscutting the wedge, even I can see he doesn’t know what he is doing…..

With my being a 3rd generation pro logger… I have to say, that this fellow is a prime example of what happens when an idiot crossbreeds with a moron…
Seat cut way to deep & uneven, never coming to a point. Back cut was cut on an angle, not horizontal, running saw like he was afraid of it, never fully reving it out in the cut, loosely holding the saw while trying to plunge cut. It isn't really possible to drive a wedge effectively on an angled back cut to sway the tree. But, besides no boots, gloves or glasses, the worst part was looking into the camera and saying "i have experience in cutting trees".
Well it's OK it didn't hit the combine. Lol
