Naval mines – when I was a kid in the late ‘60s & ‘70s, WWII naval mines floated onto our beaches with some frequency. They looked almost identical to the naval mines which the Russians have floating up on beaches in Odessa these days, as part of their outrageous Ukrainian invasion. Ironically, Odessa beaches have been a favourite holiday destination for centuries.

#7 if you're stupid enough to live that close to the atlantic coast with a fragile house on wooden stilts, well known for major hurricanes to come on shore, then when you have to watch your house float away in the water, no sympathy. if any insurance company stupid enough to insure that house, then they deserve to have to pay up.

usually water spouts that come on shore are classified as E0 or E1 tornadoes. Re: ice shove. When lake Erie freezes, a northern wind will push ice onto the beaches of Ohio east of Cleveland. There are many videos of this event.

We are retiring to the beach in a few years, and there have been several big hurricanes over the years. Our favorite island resort was scoured down to the rock foundation, taking out the whole resort! We are still going to live on an island, but plan on having to deal with bad storms…
