31. "Flood waters overran the pumps." CBS, you forgot rule #1 of journalism. The most important information comes first and the least important information is last. Do you want to know the piece of information that is the most critical bit of your story: How it happened. It is extremely unusual for a water treatment system to fail such that an emergency for a large area is declared, which means the most important piece of information that everyone wants to know is how it happened in the first place. We don't need 1 minute 45 seconds of fluff prior to that singular piece of information. And then you don't simply blow past that piece of information as the briefest of factoids to get back to the stopgap measure of bottled water and the three people who would be willing to talk with you on camera. Now I'm going to have to wait for Brady of Practical Engineering to produce a video on how this went down because you couldn't be bothered to do your job properly. The dangerous part of this is when the system gets back online, if the system is as old as is implied, the backpressure from the pumps could be the final straw and blow the whole system to kingdom come. Shutdown and startup of a citywide water system is already an extremely rare occurrence because of that danger. I don't even remember the last time anyone did a full water system reset for a large city. It's that rare. I get that you aren't engineers, but you have contacts with all kinds of people.
