A “street race” caused a gruesome crash in Milwaukee that killed two men Saturday, according to Milwaukee police.

Drag racing isn't the problem. The idiots who go about it the wrong way is.. When I was younger me and my buddy's street raced on deserted back roads or empty freeways at 2-3am and not a soul never got hurt. Nowadays these guys drag race through towns and residential neighborhoods during rush hour traffic. Condolences to the family and I pray justice is served.
when you get your license, they tell you to drive safe always for a reason.

each week innocent people get killed. street racing accidents are no accidents . they know they can kill innocent people and decide to race anyways. charges need to be upgraded from manslaughter to murder. at present a recent driver received16 years in prison for killing people. need life no parole.

Those guy that were in the blue Chevy cobalt were mangled & 1 naked with half his body hanging out of the car bent sideways looking like he was also missing a head & the other on the curb also missing a leg or something….. very gruesome
I want to start out by saying my heart and prayers go out to the families of the victims. I live and grew up since 1972 just five blocks east for the past 49 years. I'm also a car enthusiasts (classic cars/hot rodder).. What the resident was describing as going on around there that I've personally witnessed isn't street racing but flat out reckless driving. Weaving in and out of traffic, blowing through intersections, and even up on sidewalks.. I do have background from the "street racing" community and know all of the heavy hitters from the Milwaukee as well as outlying areas from Green Bay to Chicago.. Although I no longer do it (20+ years since) there's a big difference as real street racing is much more organized. Generally late at night in unoccupied industrial parks/roads and the police as well as department sergeants for the most part are aware of it. It's much more underground and will tell there are even police officers involved, of course off duty when participating.. Amongst our group there has NEVER been an accident or death. I personally haven't had a speeding ticket or traffic violation since 1997..
The cars of the offenders are not even race cars or hot rods, just plain factory cars with numskulls behind the wheel. With the time and money we invest in our hobby vehicles we wouldn't risk them blasting mid day down a crowded boulevard.. I predicted that something like this would inevitably happen with all of the lunatics "male and female" jeopardizing the safety of others with their bad decisions.. My whole point is that the solution to the problem is not to go after and target individuals who have and own performance cars as some community representatives such as Shatia Lewis has prejudicially been doing. The solution is "traffic enforcement" of the maniacs "reckless driving" through general traffic I outlined earlier…
The two men arrested are a 37 and 30 year old men both from Milwaukee, old enough to know better. If they have been arrested, why aren't their names and mug shots being released?!
