Having a pet is luxury. When you're poor, you can't feed or spay/neuter dogs and cats and it creates a huge problem of overpopulation and starving, sick and abandoned animals. I've seen this same problem in the Southern United States, Texas, Greece, Italy, the former Yugoslavia and in Puerto Rico.

For a lot of people here (Bulgaria) especially in the old towns dogs are more of a thing that's used to provide some sort of service- guard the house, they weren't really considered a part of the family, like it is for a lot of people now. Up until a couple of years it wasn't common to train your dog at all, but with every passing year more and more people train their pets. Things are changing I can say with certainty, it's up to us to set a good example. Thanks man
