AN ECCENTRIC Frenchman lives with SEVEN lions and tigers right outside his front door – and he looks after them on his own. For the last 27 years, 68-year-old Remy Demantes has owned a private rescue sanctuary for big cats, taking care of the injured animals and treating them as pets. Residing in Ouzouer-sur-Loire, France, Remy fell in love with exotics in 1986 when he saw the close bond his friend had with his domesticated panther – inspired by their relationship, Remy decided to build upon his current property and make sure his home was at the centre of his animals. Fast-forward to 2018 and Remy could not imagine life without his beloved pets, spending hours each day hand-feeding them, taking them for walks and generally kissing and cuddling their furry coats.

I hope this story doesn't influence other people to just go out and buy endangered animals, that's why there's such a big market for it and the animals get poached. I guess it's good he's looking after them but wow..

Tigers and lions never belong to usa. Its funny how u ppl name many important things after this exotic animal. Use the name of animals that are naturally found in ur countries and not the one bought forcefully against their natural habitat. Like in china we dont find Moose , so we dont use its name in any of our doings.

I understand why he doesn't want any help, but not everyone needs to get into the enclosure to help. There are plenty of other duties to be taken care of, from cleaning empty tiger holding areas to delivering food, administration, etc. Plus, you could always have some sort of 'Safety Officer' standing by outside in case of an attack. This man could be gone if attacked and no one would know right away, it could be days….
This guy needs to take advice of Kevin Richardson the real lion whisperer who loves his lions and animals and knows how to look after them
