Days are closing in and temperatures sink. The migratory birds are long gone to the South. Winter comes. Chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra), wild boars (Sus scrofa), bears (Ursus arctos), musk ox (Ovibos moschatus), deer (Cervus nippon hortulorum), deer (Capreolus capreolus), striped skunks (Mephitis mephitis), lynx (Lynx lynx), snow leopards (Uncia uncia), European otter (Lutra lutra), wolves (Canis lupus), Siberian tigers (Panthera tigris altaica), love the cold.

They are well adapted to a life in snow and do not need to change their mode of life. They are protected against the cold by their thick and warm coat. Winter fat allows them to bridge the period of the poor food availability.
