  1. My old rescue squirrel refused to hang out with me when I put him outside for a slow release—a walnut cured our friendship, but still.

  2. I'm not a rescuer or anything like that (yet, i plan to do something like that as a side job or volunteer thing). Anyway, these animals that get rescued are always seen by professionals, like vets and stuff. These people assess the injury, and take care of it. When it starts to feel better, it gets handed off to licensed people who can take care of it at home. Sometimes, if the injury is too much, the pros deem them unable to return to the wild. These animals are then given to fosters who can end up adopting it, or putting it up for adoption.

In the other case, when the pros say they are able to return to the wild, the animal is taught how to hunt best we can teach it, and are given minimal human contact. They try to make sure the animal is still scared and wary of humans in a good way, because that is that instinct that causes them to stay away from humans and stay wild. A lot of the time, the animal is reluctant to leave, but it doesnt take long for memories and instincts to kick in.

I worded this kinda weird, so lmk if you have questions

If anybody knows different, lmk and correct me please

Also, yes I know this video is for entertainment and stuff, but I thought I'd say something, and I may be a bit wrong

  3. We rescued a puppy. She was with my aunt for a while, but they originally found her at a reservation. It was actually very hard to transition her to my house.

We have one other big dog, a Malamute Husky. She was definitely afraid of him because at the shelter, a big dog that looked just like him (Moscow is his name) killed her oldest brother. Whatever trauma she had, it was significant.

I also just learned a few other things she is terrified of:
    1. Motorcycles.
    2. The cat (she gets really frightened and runs to my other dog).
    3. The microwave. This is the worst one; every time I use the microwave, she starts barking and tries to hide from us. So that's great.
