Best wishes for the new year. 🙂
3:01 that means that on Sirius B one gram of gold would weight 400 Kg, that would be 58 million dls for 1 gr. at earth prices! cha-ching!!
I loved this review. I also recommend reading Balungi Francis's account on Neutron and Planck stars.
4:58 hmmmm 😂
I'd like to meet a degenerate white dwarf…
Yeah ! More white dwarf stuff!
Racist Racist Racist. 🙄
#8 White Dwarfs are responsible for the majority of Supernova in the universe. A very specific chain of events needs to occur for a White Dwarf to reach 1.44 solar masses, the 'Chandrasekhar limit.' Massive White Dwarfs are much more common than stars massive enough to produce a Type 2 Core Collapse Supernova. That's why Type 1A Supernova are far more common than Type 2.
#9 Type 1A Supernova are excellent standard candles. The Hubble Space Telescope's primary mission when launched was to observe Type 1A Supernova from the earlier universe to determine the expansion rate and age of the universe,
'Hubble Constant.'
This lead to the discovery that the expansion of the universe is accelerating and 'Dark Matter.'
Nobel prize's all around!
You get a Nobel Prize! You get a Nobel Prize! You get a Nobel Prize!
Red Dwarfs will eventually become White Dwarfs. The smallest Red Dwarfs can stay on the main sequence for up to 200 trillion years. So multiply the age of the universe by 14,285 and all of the current Red Dwarfs will be White Dwarfs.
How rude! They are melanin deficient small vintage star cores.
It is when you forget you're crazy, that it will consume you.
An interesting sci-fi novel "Dragon's Egg" which was about a white dwarf.
2:39 yeah! I 100% (pure) love the zany choir
Does a white dwarf have a habitable zone?
“I love white dwarfs” During the “height” of his career, Verne Troyer enjoyed attention from many Hollywood wannabe actresses trying to break into the Austin Power franchise.
Agreed… White dwarfs get the shaft when it comes to stellar remnants. Would love to see a more in depth vid.
Heyo long time no see.
Missed ya.
4:40 Would you go as far as to call it "smooth-smooth"? 😂
Yes, I'd be interested in learning more.
I'm still struggling to get my head around electron degeneracy pressure. I know it's a consequence of Pauli's exclusion principle, but I don't understand how an electron in one place can "know" if it's replicating a quantum state 100 miles away in a different part of the white dwarf.
I'm the comment clone😂😂😂😂
