  1. kaya is just coconut milk curd.. similar to lemon curd without the lemon.. there many recipes.. Singapore is Malaysia.. Singapore split up with the peninsular malaysia in 1965.. the culture is identical..

  2. The 'Quay' in Boat Quay is pronounced 'key' 😊
It is so nice of you to try & understand how hawkers will feel working in their environment.
The waterfall in the Cloud Forest is no longer the tallest indoor waterfall. It has already been replaced by the Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi. ☺️
If you love flowers & greenery, Botanic Gardens is a good choice. 😉

  3. As a Singaporean, my recommendation for all tourist. “Yakun kaya Toast (5stars)”.
Those Kaya toast in kopitiam / food court / coffee shop, I will rate it 3.5stars.
I am just sad when all the tourist travel all the way to singapore, yet did not try the best Kaya toast.

  4. 👌🇸🇬👍 Thank you for introducing Singapore. It is a food paradise with kaya toast and Singapore kopi.
If has many shopping complexes . It . has a lot of parks and housing estates gardens BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THE FLOWERS IN THEM ARE DULL AND ALL OF THE SAME. THERE IS,A DETER INATION NOT TO PLANT FRUIT TREES SO AS NOT TO ATTRACT BIRDS AND
    BUTTERFLIES.
The trees, are all planted to provide shades. None of the trees are planted to provide the rooms for birds and butterflies to build their nests.

  5. Kaya toast is never a Malaysian breakfast. Only in Singapore do you find them. I should know better because we never grow up eating kaya toast in Malaysia. If you compare the two, Malaysians one is nothing fantastic. A failed copy version from Singapore. Still still the best because it was originally from them.

  6. Welcome to Singapore, trust you enjoyed our Merlion City vibes and food culture (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) . What you are experiencing is the meticulous urban planning by URA (Urban Redevelopment Authority). Rising from our original swamp land in the 1800s , our transformation is really a miracle from varied angles. Enjoy the Miracle 🙂

  7. you have got to stir the egg .. use the dark soya sauce – not sweet dark.. add pepper and stir it, yours look like the egg yolk does not mix well. Kaya is different depending on family recipee or store bought, some with pandan, some with more eggs, not all kaya are the same.

  8. The highest indoor waterfall is not in Cloud Forest, but in The Jewel at Changi Airport. Have you visited it? It is a waste if you have done so as it is considered a destination in itself.

  9. I’m very thankful for taking me along in the rotating restaurant. It was very interesting and great views!

Just thought you could have given me dinner as well! Or at least some scraps😢

  10. Amoy hawker is very nice I have never been there so will check it out. Good tip!
Go to the heartlands suburbs of Singapore! It's a more authentic local experience besides the typical tourist traps. It's just a few metro (MRT) ride away. some examples: Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh, Marine Parade (East Coast Park), Tampines, Bedok, Clementi, Eunos, Yishun, Woodlands, Tiong Bahru etc.

  11. Haha….I kinda figured you were not from Toronto or Ontario at the start of the video because you incorrectly pronounced 'Quay'! Anyway, love your video, and great smile throughout, perhaps why Nova Scotians are known here in Cda for being one of the friendliest! That smile was probably why that guy at the hawker centre removed the tray for you! I believe that generally if one is nice to another, most decent people will return that nicety. You were right, though, when you explained why there were mixed reviews for that guy….perhaps the customers/diners probably caught him at a really busy time. Regards from Ontario!
