The plot is about the distant future, Earth had been under the control of the Psychlos, a race of giant humanoid aliens, for an entire millennium. The Psychlos used human slaves to extract valuable resources, particularly gold, from the planet. While a few small tribes of humans managed to maintain their freedom in remote regions, they had long given up hope of reclaiming their home world. One day, Jonnie Goodboy Tyler and Carlo, a nomadic hunter, were captured by the Psychlos and taken to a slave camp in Denver, Colorado, the main base of operations for the alien conquerors. There, they met Terl, the security chief of the Psychlos, who planned to bribe his way back to the Psychlo home planet by illegally mining gold in areas with high levels of radioactivity. Terl selected Jonnie to lead the mining operation and gave him a team of slaves and a Psychlo flying shuttle.

While working in the mines, Jonnie discovered a vast supply of gold at Fort Knox and also stumbled upon an underground military base equipped with functioning Harrier jets, weapons, and fuel. Inspired by this discovery, Jonnie and his followers began training in aerial combat using the military base’s flight simulators and plotting a revolution against the Psychlos.
