I remember being at the Statue of Liberty as a kid on a field trip and it got struck by lightning and everyone was shocked and amazed but me. I said to my teacher that a giant copper lightning rod in the middle of the ocean probably gets hit all the time. My teacher informed us it was over 600 times a year, I imagine the Eiffel Tower is struck several times a year not as many though as it’s land based.
