Newtonian Gravity: Crash Course Physics #8

Spread The Viralist

I’m sure you’ve all heard about Isaac Newton and that apple that fell on his head and how that was a huge deal to our understanding of gravity. Well… let’s talk about that. In this episode of Crash Course Physics, Shini sits down to talk about the realities of the apple story and how Newtonian Gravity is more than a little important.

  1. One of the best things I learnt from these videos (including Physics, of course) is that I've been pronouncing the names of most of the scientists wrong!

  2. I found this video a useful refresher of stuff I learnt some time ago. But I expect the presentation to be way too fast for someone encountering these ideas for the first time. Try slowing it down, guys.

  3. Force (physics) does not exist physically in the same way that an object with mass, thus making it ā€œnotā€ the initial cause of pushing, pulling, shaping objects, motion, work or being a Vector Quantity (Magnitude + Direction).

In physics, the word, ā€œForceā€ as we know it, turns out to be nothing more than an expression to express an idea like one would use the word ā€œLoveā€ to express one's feelings. But, physics and in mathematics, still use ā€œForceā€ as thou it were something physical that could enable the initial cause of motion is wrong making it counterintuitive.

History teaches us that change is always constant. Here is my challenge to anyone. Without applying the Energy from within you, choose an object of your choices that is in front of you and try pushing and pulling it by simply applying ā€œonlyā€ the Force or Net Force. Remember, no energy.

Meaning that Energy (applied energy) is the origin of motion and not ā€œForceā€. Once Energy (E) is applied, it creates what is known as Momentum (p). When this Momentum (mass and velocity) comes in contact with another object(s), it makes a surface contact that will enable you to push and pull. Example: Ep=ma, Ep=mv and so on. Note: Ep is not to be confused as Kinetic Energy in any way.

Momentum represents things like work, wave, gravity, light, lightning, tsunami, earthquake, current, electricity, motion, magnetism, hurricane, etc.

Also note, that itā€™s ā€œnotā€ the size of a planet, but the amount of energy (E) being applied from within the planet that creates a strong or weak gravity. Example: A black hole the size of a marble can engulf or destroy our sun.

Without Energy, there is no Momentum. Without Momentum, there is no surface contact on an object(s) to push, pull, work, shaping objects, motion, gravity, etc. Momentum does not and cannot exist without the applied Energy that creates it. Energy and Momentum or ā€œEpā€ is the only common denominator that links all fundamental forces of nature. Without Ep, all fundamental forces of nature would be inert and non-existence.

Energy is energy, but itā€™s when Energy (E) is being applied that creates the Momentum (p) making it the initial cause of motion. Example: Ep.
By applying the right amount of Energy, nothing is immovable or unstoppable. ~ Guadalupe Guerra

  4. I believe it is possible that gravity really is a force produced by quantum level particles. Yes, GR produces accurate "gravity" but I believe GR is more like a mathematical regression fit. Meaning, if you assume space & time are flexible and mass can alter space & time, then, you can develop an equation to produce the same acceleration as "gravity".

  5. They can't explain how he made up that number that's why is considered a fundamental constant with the biggest percentage of error… Cuz actually could be any number cuz without that number many equations while not make sense. Like max plank equations…cuz for calculate you have isolated two obejct and that impossible here on Earth and an all scientific community knows that…
