  1. I don't remember the orcs not being able to function in the sun, thought it just hurt them, didn't melt them like vamps. Didn't the Uruk Hai force march the orcs during the day in Two Towers, or was that a films thing?

  2. Tolkien devoted a large portion of his life to developing the mythical world of Middle Earth. He drew inspiration from his real life experiences of fighting in WWI, the close friendships he maintained through his love of literature even the love of his life, his wife Edith inspired the stories of Beren and Luthien and Aragorn and Arwen. During the making of the Lord of the Rings trilogy there were always copies of the books on set to be used as reference for the director and the actors, even to the last day of filming. Peter Jackson and almost everyone in a high level position had read the books, loved them and were very respectful of the canon and lore. The writing and dialogue in TROP is not anywhere near as interesting and at times is as they say, cringeworthy. There will always be an audience for bad television/cinema. Not everyone is able to appreciate a masterpiece. Many prefer a simple story with lots of violence and gratuitous sex and Hollywood is more than happy to oblige. TROP is bad storytelling with bad writing, way too much CGI, and way too little love of the lore. That a couple of 40 something producers would fail to understand the importance of canon and lore versus pc and wokeness doesn't surprise me at all, being offensive while feigning being offended is a characteristic of their generation. I had really hoped they would produce a show that, given the obscene budget, would have approached the quality of the books and the Peter Jackson trilogy. A lifetime to write the stories and a singularly epic success of turning them into cinema. That is why people who CAN appreciate a masterpiece love the books and trilogy and do not love TROP. We are not racists we are lovers of the lore. Have diversity in the casting, I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with are people who resemble Romans with pointed ears….with Elven warriors wearing slightly modified football helmets….with "Our hearts are bigger than our feet!" hardly quote-worthy….Ugh! I don't believe I can bear 5 more episodes so I'm cutting my losses and skipping the rest. I sincerely hope that someone in the future, who does love Middle Earth, will try again. These are stories that need to be seen as well as heard because they are singularly epic mythology!

  3. Lol it's just called efficiency/cost buddy. Settle down. You should be grateful, because now you can spend more time with your family!

  4. The show is just as cringe to me as well, but I think the "Dey tooker jerrbs" part was more to show that the Men are being misled, misguided, and turned towards obvious falsehoods. Not that the elves TRULY would do that, just that the propaganda machine in Numenor makes the Men believe that's the case.

  5. Hey – I have an AARP card. I feel triggered. Belittled. whatever other stupid phrase is being used these days to say I got my feelings hurt . Bad Man !! I bet my sentence structure just reeks of Boomer. And to be clear , that joke made me laugh. Hence my ability to distinguish the fact that it was a JOKE. 😁 Keep up the good work.

  6. I don't know if this video was meant to sound this way….? BUT it sounds very much like a professor scholar reviewing (with pinpoint accurracy) every single mistake as to WHY you don't plagiarize epically known pieces of literature. It totally feels like a strong underlying lesson to the "student" as to why you don't procrastinate on a known assignment. lol
And JSG is correct in presenting his view in this fashion. He doesn't even have to repeatly insult the writers to this "sitcom." The depth (and ridiculousness) of their many errors do it for him.

  7. Oohh ooohh ooohh i figured it out! Nothing makes sense in the "rings of Power" and we have characters that make no sense because……. They will explain it all in a book novelization they want us to buy later.

  8. What's ironic about the history of LOTR is that the men took the elves jobs if anything. The elves were slowly leaving middle earth as the meme Númenorians and men took over middle earth lmao terrible show

  9. Wouldn't the well water be clear as in see through?…must have been dirty well water, which it really wouldn't haven been if your drinking it, guess the reliction over powers the clearness of the water?

  10. Of course everything in the show is not in the books. They were serious when they say that the series should reflect the real world, (our world) rather than what tolkien created in middle earth.

  11. the elves are from southern and central-earth, and not north-earth? i'm not sure what the SJW angle is, to be honest these people have lived in the dark so long they don't even know how to properly convey the fact they blink by clinching their anus.

  12. Thank F*CK we have the Jackson films to see an amazing representation of what Galadriel should be like. Wise, powerful, stoic, yet she is also kind, understanding and sympathetic. She is nothing like this in the show. *slow clap* for Amazon.

  13. Your ROP reviews are the best thing you've done in a while – you've got a lot to contribute to this subject and it's nice to hear.

I agree with you about the in-world fantasy idioms these bad shows like to use. It's often very cheesy. ASOIAF has one I really like: "The others take him/her" or "The others take his eyes." It makes sense, bc we know about the others, they are demon-like, mythical characters that are introduced right from the get-to in the prologue to the first book. And it sounds really cool.

Tolkien often used real-world idioms, when he used them at all, and I think it worked really well. I think it's fine when things that exist/are said in the real world also exist/are said in second-world fantasy stories. I mean, Gandalf even says there is the game of golf in Middle-earth. No need to try so hard. It's definitely not as creative as the writers think.

  14. Very boring and annoying show, with meaningless story and long stretched boring small sequences of fights, accompanied with long boring looks that characters give to each other, I am hoping that the show gets better with each episode, but things get even more boring and confusing, I was so bored by the last episode that I feel asleep,

  15. this show is extremely offensive to those of us who work at the Amazon fullfillment centers that proves once again the so called "worlds greatest employer" can give a fuck all to us who toil away making them the real money, a billion dollars that could have gone to oh I dont know HEALTHCARE for Amazon employees

  16. Is Amazon, HBO and Disney now just the new ''it'' playgrounds for rich kids who are given careers they beg for but don't have the experience or talent to pull off? Or is this all just a facade for a big money laundering scheme?

  17. The drama between Isildur and Valandil (the name of one of Isildur's sons) sets up the death of this Valandil saving isildur or something. And then he gives the name to his son… It's all so simplistic.

  18. The costume design doesn't even look Lord o the Rings style and tone. Literally looks like second hand costumes you'd find in a fantasy high school play but with more fake dirt and grime on them

  19. The guy saying "They took our jobs." was a set up for Pharazôn to have his speech, but I guess you missed that. The alcohol was already present to hand out to show he was a good guy. Then he gives the speaker a hand shake, showing it was a set up. He even lets Galadriel go showing he is already under the influence of Sauron, but once again, you missed that. This show is not perfect, just better that you are painting it.

  20. Ignoring all the lore Errors, the Costumes, Plot and character design is on the same level as a low level Fanfiction in an Alternate Universe.
It's just not that good, especially for the Money they put into it.
