1. Did you notice the catspaw dagger viserys had his hand on when he was talking to rheanerya about the dream of winter

2. It's a brutal scene to watch,. Parallel from when rheanerya and her mother was talking. Saying childbirth is the battlefield for women in this world. To the cutting scenes back and forth from the tourney battle to her on the birthing bed is brilliant

One of my favourite asides in the book "Fire and Blood", which runs through the first half of the Targaryen dynasty(up to Aegon III)was during Jaehaerys I's reign(the grandfather of the current Viserys), Jaehaerys wife Alysanne travelled to the Wall and tried to fly her dragon Silverwing past it. Every time, the dragon turned back, which she publicly laughed off, but later mentioned how disturbed she was by it, as it was the first time Silverwing would not take her where she commanded.

   "Fire and Blood"is done from the perspective of historians and second hand accounts for some of the history, so I'm looking forward to seeing which ones they choose to cement as the true accounts(Daemon's supposedly cruel joke about his nephew is framed here as possibly being just a sardonic comment, for example). Depending on which side they supported more, it changes the accounts of the Dance and so forth.

   Some of the accounts in the story for Rhaenyra come from her most staunch supporter, a court fool Mushroom, who also says some lascivious comments that seem too crazy to be real, so looking forward to whatever is to come!

4. Even in HOTD already the long night is hyped up to what it was supposed to be…yet D&D utterly destroyed it by GOT season 7 and 8…like every plotline and character lol

6. I just watched the episode and came here to see your reaction💜 Btw, I've read the book "Fire and Blood" (which this series is based on) and I kind of know what's going to happen😬 So I'm a little scared…
   When I read the book, I really liked Daemon and now I still like him. He might be my favorite character so far.

10. Very sad fact – giving birth is still practiced like this, in many countries – or households – that lack proper medical help. And since saving the child is mostly the purpose, many… many women die like this. Heartwrenching scene, but important to see. Giving birth is often far away from easy and safe.
    As for the episode, it was good, had a decent amount of everything, and I'm curious how this goes on, but when looking back at the first episode of GoT (at the time I didn't know a thing about the franchise), I was immediately hooked on some characters (like Tyrion, John, Daenerys and pretty much all the Starks, even Joffrey, Jaimie and Cersei), just because of the characters and almost in their first scene. Here, in HoD I missed it all along. All characters are typical character stereotypes and without the dragons it was/would be just another political talk and battle, medieval dramas are full of. (The only thing I find interesting is the subtle hint of Daemon being in love with his niece (?) I may be wrong, but still… I mean, they are Targaryens ) I didn't read the book and therefore I can only imagine if this will be just another blunt war for the throne, with dragons/many CGI or if we will get something more and how the characters will turn out. Honestly, I would rather prefer the absolute prequel, about first Aegon, also the big dragon, building the Wall, creating White Walkers etc., but that's just my opinion, maybe we really have to learn more about the characters. Yet, I'm not sure if we will get enough time/screentime for that.

16. why do all of you reviewers/reactionists miss that Viserys had an impossible choice to make? Likely lose both (Aemma and the child) or take the chance of the child surviving and sacrifice the life of the mother for sure with the procedure they talked about. Every one of you reviewers seems to get so upset at Viserys' decision but it was impossible.

17. I really love Dorgans because they look so incredible and cool. And series is very amazing.

18. I don't know…at the beginning the CGI put me off a little bit but at the end the show did pull me back, so all in all I liked it

19. Daemon Targaryen is one of those characters that are fascinating to watch as a viewer but if I was with him in real life I would hate him to the ground

20. The issue regarding the succession at the beginning of the episode was pretty complicated, and both Viserys and Rhaenys had solid claims for different reasons. The latter was the only child of Prince Aemon, King Jaehaerys' eldest son, who had served well as Master of Laws when he was alive but died during a campaign against Myrish pirates with a crossbow bolt in his throat, which was actually aimed for the Lord next to him. The former was the eldest son of the younger son, Prince Baelon the Brave(who earned the name as a boy by smacking Balerion the Black Dread on the nose with a stick, and then again in battle during the Fourth Dornish War and the fight to avenge his brother's death), who was much beloved by the people and had even served as Hand of the King before he died of Appendicitis. Interestingly, Baelon had already been named Heir to the Throne after Aemon's death, ahead of Rhaenys, his brother's daughter, whose only child at that time was a daughter, which only increased Viserys's claim to the throne. The patriarchal society of Westeros was definitely at play regarding the choice of the Great Council of 101, but it's essential to know that it wasn't the only reason behind it.
