A lost baby deer finds a home thanks to a lucky encounter with a local woman. Amber Westphal, 41, was on a walk through Kernersville, North Carolina, USA, when she encountered a tiny piebald baby deer. The little deer whined at Amber and started kissing her ankles, possibly searching for food. Amber had no idea what to do at the time, but returned to the area that night with her son Isaac, 20, to find the deer. After nursing the deer, who they named Scout, back to health, Amber took him to Turner’s Deer Camp in Lexington, North Carolina, where he rehabilitated for the next five months before being released back into the wild.
