A DISASTER CAUGHT ON CAMERA // Draft Horse Pileup!!!

Spread The Viralist

Things didn’t go well in the field today, we had a draft horse pileup!! We caught the whole disaster on camera! Jim and the horses attempted to pull out the tractor when Lady got her foot stuck and fell down. Everyone made it out without a scratch!

Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horses farming, and horse training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods. He teaches about harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming equipment, horse feeding and maintenance, and voice commands for horses. New videos uploaded every week. Keep watching to see how Jim trains his new Suffolk Punch colts as he has trained his full-grown teams!

  1. Are those horses electric ? I didn't see smoke stack ! Lol great job horses stayed calm. Think she was just making sure she wasn't hurt and not get you hurt. A good Horse takes care of their owner.

  2. A horse treated right can work so hard it's astawnishing the power and smartness they have and it's so amazing how it's like she knew to stay calm….. Hell the two boys were damn calm as you said….. Imaging playing tugawar with friends…… I'm big and can be strong but would hate to fall on anyone. It's definitely a misshap no one needs. Thank God all is safe. A younger green team would not have handled this the same…… Panic would of set in and not worked out

  3. That's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Oh, that was a dumbest thing you know you did. We never work that feel that was wet and we knew we would get stuck. Bring horses out there no-one the situation how bad it is with the tractor and that you bring horses out there. I just hope lady didn't get hurt when the other horse fell on top of her we were talking about 2,000 lb

  4. Glad she's ok. Should she had the rest of the day not working too let her calm down and to really make sure she was ok? When grandpa had accidents with his horses I would be so scared not knowing what the outcome was going to be

  5. Jim, Glad all is well with the horses & yourself although I'm sure you gave yourself a mental trip to the wood shed, latter! Enjoy your videos, with the horses & your beautiful family!

  6. Thank you for airing this episode. I have owned drafts for just 4 years. My first team were Suffolk mares (one of which I lost to colic in 2021). I replaced her with a 15 yo Belgian mare (owned by our Amish farrier). My husband and I have learned so much from you (feeding, handling, et al). I have resisted commenting, but perhaps this is the time to let you and your beautiful family know just how much you are appreciated. Thank you, Jim and Brenda!

  7. Too bad the horse didn't kick you. I'd do it in his place. Jka you can kick him to make him stand up. Only idiots do. It could have ended tragically. You wanted to show yourself and make a movie for profit. . Too bad the horse didn't kick you when he got up. In this video you showed the person from the worst side. It is a shame that you have shown that the horse is only a thing for you, not a living thing. You are a beast that has been accidentally named human. Animals suffer from people like you. Maybe someone likes this movie, but not me. It is the first time that I cannot watch the video you have recorded. Jets on Stupid, idiotic, full of suffering> I'm ashamed of people like you and what you showed in this movie. if you want to kick someone, kick the wife and kids, not the horses. Shame.

  8. LIFE, the only 4 letter word that applies to these situations. a fellow prays for the good, but ugly is better than bad,
    some days ugly happens.

  9. Good job getting them all out safely mate, could have been horrendous, reminds me of the time I was riding one and leading one when they started nipping at each other when all of a sudden they must have got their legs tangled and down we went, with me underneath when the lead horse got up and my horse started to roll so he could get up I knew I had broken something so I hung on for grim death and we finally made it upright, I managed to catch the other horse and slowly made it home, I then discovered I couldn't get off.m,y horse until my parents came out and were able to haul me off, and get me to hospital to find I had a broken pelvis, the horses had a few scrapes but healed up quicker than I did. the moral of the story is " these things happen regardless" thank God who looks over us.

  10. That is the worst thing I've ever seen before you ought to know not to put the horses out in that sticky mud until things dry out

  11. Dang you had me going there for a bit . Glad to see lady is doing good . Poor bill wasn't about to be left in the barn with lady going out and he let you know . Lol

  12. That was the scariest thing I've seen! I had to watch it in two parts because I was at work. So all afternoon I was so worried! Thank the Lord Lady was ok! You are so wonderful with your horses❤️

  13. I'm glad the horses and you weren't hurt. I had an experience similar to yours but with out horses. Sixty five years ago, I was fifteen, a want-a-be farmer, farming a half acre garden, on a neck in the upper Chesapeake Bay. The garden was just a few inches above a flood tide, so it was wet with a clay base in low spots. I'm disking with a Cub tractor, most of the ground was just right except for a wet spot. I recklessly drove over it. I used my steering brakes to no avail. After unhitching the disk, the tractor easily moved to firm ground where I used s stout rope to pull the disk out. Since that incident I've had multiple getting stuck events, some of which are better not reviving. I was glad Lady showed intelligent to stay calm, usually mules show that sense. I've enjoyed your videos for the past year, please continue as they show a lot of forgotten skills of yesterday.

  14. I hope you learned a lesson here as well ! Seeing how this was much wetter field than normal. You asked Lady to do too much as she was in a much wetter spot.

  15. Jim, this showed the great bond between you and the horses. For them to stay calm and know that you would solve the problem for them shows great trust.

  16. My Dad always told me that if the dirt is sticking to the tractor tires, it's too wet to be in the field. Sometimes we do things that maybe are not the best, but that's life. I myself was usually the one who got hurt. Sure glad Lady was not hurt. Thanks for Sharing. 🐴
