  1. And the death and damage to the Gulf will be felt for decades, the fishing industry and the families who rely on a healthy Gulf for their livelihoods. All because of Big Oil.

  2. All they had to do was take a very heavy duty rubber torpedo shaped reinforced with heavy gauge steel wire and then insert it down into the well and pump hydraulic fluid in to the torpedo shaped balloon. And I'm going to say do it back to back-to-back if it's possible. And then cover the entire well with tons of hydraulic concrete.

  3. I'm am deeply saddened by this accident. The rest of you hating and protesting these jobs. Shut up, people put their lives in danger for you to enjoy all the benefits of this industry.

  4. 43:25 that is a bold face lie. Can't believe that they said that. What a disgrace. Instead of blaming trump, blame Obama cause this happened under HIS watch. Not Trump. Had Obama not cut funding to the dept that carries out rig inspections, this wouldn't have happened. Y'all make me sick. "always find a way to use a tragedy" which is the moto and battlecry from the leftist politicians and leftist organizations like discovery. Y'all had NO NEED to Put that in the end. But ya had to make it about politics. Funny how the first time I watched this several years ago, it didn't have anything about Trump at the end. Funny how it's reuploaded and edited. Make me sick

  5. RIP all lost souls. Investigations show how even the best of the best worked under a multipart management systems, suits on the rig just that day and a couple of guys tried to point out a problem they had. They did as they were told. If anyone else already brought this to light it does not need blown up but dig deeper. Deep shame on the operators for not understanding (again), when front line in your biz want to give their best, give them a safe space to tell and know they will be valued for their expertise on shift for their contract. I'm remember the event!) The fire did come to life and the environmental damage 😭. We need to do better & I wish I knew how.

  6. Watched the entire episode. The added jab "weakened by the Trump administration" was uncalled for. It was put int o point blame and with an agenda in mind. VERY poor taste National Geographic, shameful to make a jab like that without explication. I'm curious as to what, how and why where regulations altered by the Trump administration.

  7. Never, NEVER let anyone, no matter how high their rank, push & pressure you into doing something you know is unsafe! This could apply to ANY job. Im a nurse and Ive had to deal with that pressure in my job. Those 11 deaths are on BP 's shoulders! Its a testamrnt to the professionalism of that entire crew of 126 or so that there werent more deaths! Next time uou are pressured in your job to make unsafe decisions? Tell them…. "Two words:DEEPWATER HORIZON". It astonished me how those BP executives pressured those men in the drill shack!
