After seeing all the Hollywood tripe I am definitely going to be giving this 2 thumbs up!
DO NOT GET A MALINOIS OR A DUTCH SHEPHERD UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING. They are not for casual dog owners… This movie does show what it’s like to handle a malinois or a dutch shepherd if you’re untrained… it just doesn’t make it apparent. Torn up shit and trips to the hospital, bandages on your arm… it’s not a joke. If you want a “close to child” dog, get one after doing a ton of research and owning a few easier dogs to handle. Seriously… I had a dog that I THOUGHT was half DS then got a full blood one from a back yard breeder and I love her more than any other living being on the planet but it was incredibly challenging to train her and I’m no-where close to out of the woods yet. She’s 3 1/2 years old and just now starting to chill out after a LOT of training…. Granted, I got her after a police dept declined her and a family brought her back to the breeder after not able to handle her (I found this out later). Finally she’s maintainable but far from an angel. These are not dogs for casual dog owners… Don’t watch this movie and think you’ll get a baby sitter if you get a malinois or a dutch shepherd. By the way, the scene where he was having a seizure, the dog would have had her throat on his from the beginning. These are special dogs… they’re almost conscious… Ask anyone who owns one… They are like children… Dogs this smart deserve people who dedicate part or all of their lives to them, like having children.

Mr Tatum you restored my Faith in how Humans and Animals become one. I was broken hearted because they are all soliders and they get treated like a body bag number. I was sexually assaulted and I can't imagine not having my Animal by my side. NO MATTER WHAT ROLE YOU PLAY YOU PUT YOUR HEART INTO EVERY PART YOU ACT IN, THIS MOVIE IS 5 STARS AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE PROUD OF YOU.
My regret in the military was that I wasn't a dog handler. It probably would have helped. Instead after coming home from combat I tried to deal with everything by drinking. Years later someone gave me a puppy. I have been sober ever since and improving.
