The Nowhere King: A Flawed Show's Perfect Villain

The Nowhere King: A Flawed Show's Perfect Villain
Spread The Viralist

All hail the Nowhere King! The Nowhere King backstory in The Last Lullaby rules! Who was he though? This Centaurworld video can tell you about his backstory and why he has so many perfect parallels to our flawed but heroic Horse.

Centaurworld is a really good show that has some problems with the second season, but this is still a sure sign that Netflix Futures is filling out the catalogue of exclusives with winners. I have more Centaurworld videos on the way, so don’t miss out.

  1. Centaurs in Greek Mythology were typically used as a metaphor for learning to accept and control the animal and human parts of oneself. They were wise creatures who heroes would go to train with who had mastered both sides of their existence. The Nowhere King is the opposite of that, and rather than learning to accept both parts of him, rejects that union, becoming a monster in both the animal and human sense of the word. He's a true Tragic character, and I love it.

  2. The only serious gripe I have with how the show ended was Rider's fake out death. Writing a character back into the plot after a "death" scene robs it of all emotional value, if I re-watch Centaurworld that scene will likely only ever annoy me now. Her death would have served to temper the happy ending with tragedy, Horse losing her companion but finding a new family in the process. It would have served the duality theme of the series much better, but instead she just randomly shows up and serves basically no purpose to the plot. Instead of her arc ending in a meaningful way she gets cartoon hair and literally rides off into the sunset, whoopdie-doo.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show. Which is why sloppy writing like that bugs me all the more, the fakeout death cliche should be regarded with the same scorn as fart jokes and the phrase ''It was a dark and stormy night''.

  3. I think the thing i like the most is centaurworld doesnt insult us that much. Atlease it having everything spelled out. it lets us fill in gap by using knowledge we would have from other stories and just basic common sense.

  4. I think the the nowere king is based off of a wendigo. The we digo represents hunger, every time it eats it gets more hungry and the share a design a deer like skull with a black body

  5. I think the nowhere king is based of a wendigo in native American culture, the aperance of the nowhere king looks like the Wendigo and the we digo represents hunger, every time it eats fit gets
    more hungry

  7. The reason why that villain was so good there is because the writers used reality itself. No matter how much you try, you will get nowhere. Thats because in the end of it all…everything you have ever done will disappear. People look down upon others that have chronic depression…well this is why they act this way. Some have been in it so long that their very humanity has degressed. Stuck in limbo from just the shock of it all. They know where it all leads to so they dont even try. You are literally just waiting to die. All you can do is distract yourself as death inevitably claims you. For those of you who choose to be ignorant, enjoy your distractions while you still have them. Keep thinking that it will save you. He will be seeing you soon.

  8. For a show that initially comes off as extremely childish (mainly centaurs and the crazy world), it has a surprisingly powerful warning about self-hatred. I mean people at any age can watch this and reflect on their own views towards themselves. Heck, I know I did. At times I feel worthless and am not comfortable with who I am or how I look. Learning about the Nowhere King's story definitely gave me a wake-up call about needing to learn to love and accept myself even if I'm not perfect.
